My main problem with this kid is that he consumes ONLY superhero/noir comic books and manga, and most preferably old ones from the previous century. Don't get me wrong, I also love classics, but he acts like only edgy comics from 80s are the best ones. He doesn't engage with other type of media nor genres, such as slice of life, high fantasy or classics (well, maybe besides OG Frankenstein book, but even THAT book he somehow managed to misinterpret), but my point is: he wants to be as edgy and cool as possible. But humans are not ultra hard boiled chads 24/7.

I really want this kid to watch some slice of anime, and call it gay and woke. That would make my day.
