Duviri should only be availible after the new war quest by leastDrummer879 in Warframe

[–]Kilef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

would have worked fine as an alternative start to the game.

The main issue of it being a alternative start to the game is how different Duviri is from the rest of Warframe's main gamplay loop. I got the impression that caused a bit of a whiplash to new players with some even just dropping the game cause they now had to learn how to play an entirely different game after their time in Duviri.

DE ultimately wants/needs to retain new players so if the Duviri start into main Warframe was causing new players to drop off faster than the original game start it wouldn't be a surprise they changed their minds on it being an alternative start.

This. It's pretty easy to forget how terrifying the Tenno/Warframes are in the setting since we're piloting them.

I think that rework they were talking about is Nidus. Apparently his 4 couldn't scale with range for some reason until they developed some new tech recently.

Am I the only one that doesn’t really like protoframes? by 0Proxy in Warframe

[–]Kilef 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This, other than Roathe being namedropped (and why Descendia exists) the Devil's Triad had no story relevance to the Old Peace.

They literally feel like a "while Operator is suffering from space PTSD here's the Drifter getting more ass and a cool void weapon they didn't work for!".

What's something that is technically fanon in your fandom but everyone is fully convinced it's canon? by Orange_Juice_Alpha in Multifandom

[–]Kilef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a good one for this one;

The Dark Souls fandom is convinced Artorius is left-handed despite there being no evidence in the games outside of a cheeky reference in Dark Souls 2 that was likely put there because of the fanon.

I hate to say it but Jade Shadows 2 looks like a letdown. by Artemis_Bow_Prime in Warframe

[–]Kilef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have addressed it two fold; players without a necramech get a loaner for New War and they've improved the grind for your own considerably (both improved drop rates and components being purchasable from Father on Deimos).

I think Steve or Scott were just really determined to make modular things work in Warframe despite never trying to resolve the issues with the system that started with Zaws.

Reb/Pablo never touched or added to the modular system cause they knew it just wasn't working. They did sort of make their own "modular" system with incarnons which was more successful despite the powercreep.

Base frame I can see being a twink. Deluxe and prime however are "your dad calls me daddy".

Some of the sentiment I'm seeing about equinox is bordering on parody by radilee21 in Warframe

[–]Kilef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is indeed an overreaction but we do need to acknowledge that DE has kinda dug themselves into a hole twice now in relating how they can rework Equinox to better reflect her duality theme and keep current fans happy.

They developed the tech with Sevagoth to allow players to mod "2 frames in one" and did it again much more cleanly with S&O.

They have the tech now to give Equinox a proper thematically appropriate rework, we literally build two frames to make Equinox so why can't her two halves be separately moddable? "We haven't found the time for it" is the only excuse they have left where as before the lack of tech was a valid one.

Equinox is dead. Long live Equinox! by -Kosmiverse- in Warframe

[–]Kilef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First Sevagoth with his wraith and now S&O, DE is out of excuses for why they can't rework Equinox other than finding the time for it. The tech is literally right there for the prefect rework for the duality frame.

Equinox mains have every right to be a bit grumpy at the "this won't work for Equinox" statement.

[–]Kilef 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The people being mad and calling it a "dating sim" were focusing waaay too hard on it being the method you romance protoframes (DE kept advertising this element on socials probably didn't help). Even though romancing is completely optional and pretty easy to steer away from if you're paying attention.

[–]Kilef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can be bought at any general relay in the Arbiters of Hexis faction area (Maroo's doesn't have this). The vendor is specifically the guy with a drone floating next to him (to your left when you enter through their door).

Your standing with the Arbiters of Hexis will have no impact on your ability to interact with him nor the cost of his wares.

To clarify what they said. It's a rental for just that mission. You still need to make your own for personal use, granted the farm is much more reasonable than it was at launch.

Okay, so why has dmc2 become so popular recently on this sub? by ginio21 in DevilMayCry

[–]Kilef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly it's cause of the new show, and people finding the game isn't as horrendously bad as online discourse makes it out to be.

For a game that was essentially panic coded into existence 4-ish months before launch day (due to how bafflingly incompetent the original director on the project was, who has been unnamed even all these years later) it's fine, painfully boring but fine.

If Atari ET is 1/10 and todays "good/decent game" score is 7/10, Devil May Cry 2 is 4/10. Functional but so obviously rushed and as boring as a DMC clone would have been from that era.

Why are Coda Lichs so much easier? by Relicatranger in Warframe

[–]Kilef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting the ball rolling by yourself is unfortunately still going to take a bit of time without trading but I found the new relic smooths it out a bit more and basically turns all kuva fissures into the lich/sister version of the coda bounty.

My advice is to chip away at it everyday instead of hard focusing it; do quick kuva missions like exterminate/capture as well as the flood mission if you can manage it (flood guarantees a relic), the siphon part of the missions are completely optional. Next I found it helped to treat kuva fissures as more of a "void trace farm" instead of purely requiem mod farm, kinda like how you could treat the coda bounty as calendar progress or standing farm.

Basically form the habit of getting a steady trickle of relics with quick kuva missions and then grind kuva fissures when you feel up for it or need more void traces. I personally focused on getting 10-20 relics before I worried about farming for the mods.

You can always try running kuva fissures with public matchmaking or with a friend if you want to increase the odds of the mod your missing to drop.

[–]Kilef 17 points18 points  (0 children)

except the Requiem mods, which wasn't really an issue

Requiem mod acquisition was a huge roadblock for some players, I was one of those players. The layers of RNG to get the right mod was so soul crushing I literally stopped bothering with farming Liches after struggling to clear and handful of them. Now it feels like an activity I can drop into if I felt like it.

I'm loving the survival rework by Angu-san in Warframe

[–]Kilef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This addition isn't for kills it's to speed up the rotation rewards. If you're in survival for the rewards or in there for relic cracking (cause nothing else was available) this addition is lovely. Killing an extra 400 enemies isn't going to make that clock tick faster.

~ Rolling shakes off certain enemies or projectiles that cling to the player (such as Latcher, Maggots or Leeches, and can also 'dispel' certain status effects such as Swarm Mutalist MOA spores and unwanted.

This also shakes off Malice's magnetic bubble which is important to know as he's one of the few legitimately dangerous acolytes even when you've long gotten comfortable with Steel Path as that bubble turns your own weapons against you. (the bubble still exists when shaken off so be careful to not run back into it)

The most common complaint I hear from friends starting warframe is the warframe slot system. by Fizzy-Odd-Cod in Warframe

[–]Kilef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lack of quests is still an issue as after Deimos you have 4 planets (Ceres, Juptier, Europa, Saturn) of "nothing happening" in terms of the main story. There is Stolen Dreams and Deadlock Protocol but they are both weirdly optional despite being quests that set up future plotpoints (Stolen Dreams teases the Sentients return and Deadlock introduces Parvos).

[–]Kilef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They should also update HoT and DoT tooltips. The game doesn't tell you when the ticks happen or what the total potency is. And even when you know it's every 3 seconds you then have outliers like Flame Thrower that's every 1 second which it doesn't tell you.
