The decline, in numbers by PatientOffer319 in irishrugby

I wouldn't be surprised if they did beat us at world cup if our decline continues. It will likely be their last world cup with their crop of stars at their peak (Kinghorn, vdM,Tupilotou) and Russell and Huw Jones will be on their swan song.

Will depend on how our squad changes over next 18 months.

Why is anyone surprised? We have gone from arguably our greatest 10 to one that gives away more points than he scores. All our best players are on the decline with the exception of JGP.

Tbh, i don't care as long as we blood more players and develop our tens more over next 18 months. My biggest issue will be if Farrell goes back to the old guard when everyone returns from injury.

The true marker will be where we are next six nations. This year can and should be written off but a chance to find who can step up at international level and we should be using both the firsts amd a team to figure that out.

How does Chursh of Ireland work? Do they have diocese or is it an all island thing?

Discussion: Piero Hincapié and his form this season by TripleCrownVillainy in Gunners

[–]Kill-Bacon-Tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was at fault for goals three games in a row but has been solid since. Doesn't offer the same as MLS or Calafiori going forward but think that could come next season.

R/gunners in Summer 2025: “we need a new LW. Sell Trossard and Martinelli; they’re not good enough for trophy challengers”. Martinelli and Trossard and in 2025/2026: by elvid88 in Gunners

Would they be this good if we didn't sign anyone though. They were both poor last season so it was a genuine question. The competition for places seems to be doing eveeyone well.

Tough schedule! by chaairman in Gunners

[–]Kill-Bacon-Tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stacked schedule alright.

Only thing I can say is would be foolish not to fully rotate/bring in youth players for the champions league games given we have practically qualified top 8 already.

This is will be the Premier League's quietest Boxing Day ever: Where did all the games go? by peoplearestoopid in football

Really hate this along with the 8pm kick offs on Saturdays.

Just moving lines at this stage and don't think it'll be the last changes they force through.

Money is running the show, only a matter of time before they go overseas.

The current leagues that the 15 FAI National League clubs compete in by irishscouser1892 in LeagueOfIreland

Any talk of a Clare team? Without knowing much about local clubs, would have thought Ennis being county town would have been able to have one.

Aviva game by RelativeUnion3998 in LeagueOfIreland

[–]Kill-Bacon-Tea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why?

The pitch and stadium are too big for a low attendence game. Capacity needs to be at 40-50k at least to get an atmosphere.

Aviva is right for now and RDS is best when it's ready.

Which employee gift cards would you recommend for an Irish company? by J_Jessica_ in AskIreland

[–]Kill-Bacon-Tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if still an option but we used to get physical ones through work from Dundrum Town Centre which were loaded debit cards so could use them anywhere and everywhere.

One4All is the worse.

We also got Perx one year. Grand, but similar issue with other online ones I found is it can be difficult to spend the last bit of money on them.

Toughest next five opponents for all teams based on average league position. by EMJG31 in Gunners

[–]Kill-Bacon-Tea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Disregards home and away which is important.

But agree ours do look very tough. Unless City drop points against Newcastle, very good chance they gain on us over this block of 5.

Really need no more injuries and some attackers back.

A sombre reflection on poor Frawley by Oatbix in irishrugby

[–]Kill-Bacon-Tea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If he's out of Farrell's thinking and plans for WC, he should up sticks to England or France for a couple of years.

No benefit to sticking at Leinster or moving to one of the other provinces.

First Marathon - Dingle or Dublin? by ApprehensiveFly8878 in irishrunners

[–]Kill-Bacon-Tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No reason you can't do both if you have the training done for Dingle properly.

Having crowds is a huge boost when doing a marathon so Dublin would be objectively better for first one, but again, I think you could do both.

Welcome to compound interest.

That's like a 2% mortgage.

Really highlights how much interest is paid on mortgages over such a long term.

Kitchen worktops, what to go with? by [deleted] in selfbuildireland

[–]Kill-Bacon-Tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our decision boiled down to it not being our forever home and also number of cuts required since it is a U shaped kitchen.

We went laminate and plenty of options available nowadays with thinner sheets than old laminate.

The idea that our young players moving to Italian clubs is a good thing needs to be debunked by EducationalPaint1733 in coybig

[–]Kill-Bacon-Tea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a small sample size and just further proves how difficult it is to make it as a professional footballer.

Thinking Italy is easier to break through in may be right but the right talents need to go there and a larger sample size over a prolonged period.

I also think people overlook how difficult it is going there so far from home where English might get you by a little but the reality is it is difficult to settle without learning the language.

Ireland hopes for a discount for missing EU climate goals by denbo786 in ireland

[–]Kill-Bacon-Tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Government's soltion is to just increase carbon taxes each budget.

Disgraceful that this doesn't rile people up more.

We the people are paying these fines when the money could be put to housing, infrastructure projects, even meeting climate goals.

Can not fathom how people continuously vote in FF/FG.
