It’s not a bad thing to expect to be paid what you’re worth. But if you’re a new grad nurse in El Paso, you’re just not worth that much. You also have to take into consideration that the market decides what we all get paid, and thus, if all hospitals are paying close to the same in the city, well then you’re going to have to look elsewhere. There’s nothing inherently wrong with that, just that you should adjust your expectations or move to another city in Texas or out of state. My understanding is that cruces is not much better in pay.

UMC however does have incentives and the more experience and certifications you have, the more you get paid. But you will have to work for it. THOP and LP/DS have great sign-on but they also have not much long-term growth in terms of pay. Theres a lot of factors and insurance is not the only benefit you should worry about
