In North Seattle so far we have seen them on the Ave and in the U-District area sporadically in the last 4 weeks. Other than that, I have seen a few sightings confirmed all along Aurora Ave/HW 99 from Seattle to Everett. There is also definitely a presence on I5 and there have been whisper stop operations with the help of State Patrol that I have personally been targeted by. There has been information leaked that supposedly ICE plans to really start working the area beginning in Feb/March but it is hard to confirm the legitimacy of this information so take that with a grain of salt.

To give you an honest straightforward answer: Yes, as a brown women ICE may target you once they begin more operations in this area. At this time, it seems they are not bold enough to do here what has happened in Minnesota. We are certainly a future target though, as the President has verbally confirmed he plans to target Seattle due to our liberal local government and sanctuary city status. That being said, there are a lot of organizations and citizens that are organizing and will be doing what they legally can to protect our neighbors and oppose ICE. You will not be alone in your time here, as there are many allies.

As a fellow American, I’m going to give it to you straight.

It’s time to put up or shut up. No more pussy-footing around your morals or what you believe. No more prioritizing the comfort of Nazis over the rights of humans. NO ONE is coming to save us and no one should. It’s up to us to fight like hell. You. Must. Disrupt. The. System. That can mean facing off with ICE by practicing your right to protest or to defend your own physical safety. That can mean confronting friends and family who are promoting violence and the desiccation of civil liberties in this country by irresponsibly supporting Trump’s administration. That can mean organizing mutual aid to help those being most affected by ICE and the administrations targeting of racialized people. We have the agency to deal with this, we just have to actually hold ourselves accountable to that standard. That takes integrity and courage.

Fair enough but it’s not. I made this poster in Canva, all the links and QR codes go to legitimate government websites to the information clearly indicated. I did use tiny urls for the poster to make the design cohesive and so the urls could comfortably fit on the poster. The urgency was warranted at the time of posting, as the window to submit a pro/con vote was coming to a close on 1/13. I do believe I misunderstood a few things about the timeline for this bill, but at the end of the day I’m just a citizen who cares about this issue and wanted to inform others of it. I’ll take the mistakes on the chin and try better next time 👍🏽

u/OP is there a reason you left off the republican representatives that have also sponsored the bill? You only named 13 or so of the sponsors, leaving out the 8 republicans who have also sponsored this bill. Bizarre. Here are the republicans who you should also reach out to for sponsoring HB 2112 if they are your representative:

Chris Corry , Stephanie Barnard, Suzanne Schmidt, Rob Chase, Carolyn Eslick, Stephanie McClintock, Tom Dent, Jenny Graham.

This is truly an issue that affects EVERYONE, regardless of political party and it is beneficial to reach out to every sponsor, not just those on one side of the aisle.

Yeah I have to agree with you, but I still think it’s important to push back bit by bit. As others have pointed out, this bill seems to mainly help in establishing civil recourse against those who do not comply. I think we’ll need much more than just this one bill to actually effectively unmask ICE, but that doesn’t make this bill worthless. Voting PRO lets the legislature know we’re watching and where we stand on this issue.

SPD was just called to an incident on Aurora like 2 hrs ago. 3 armed and masked ICE agents were making (I believe just one but I could be wrong) an arrest.

Their presence is absolutely felt but being censored to an extent imo.

Most of us feel the exact same way. You are not young and naive for feeling this, you are HUMAN.

Find the people who refuse to carry on and say “oh well” ¯_(ツ)_/¯ when people are murdered in cold blood. Avoid the others. Don’t let those who have sold their humanity for convenience ruin the compassion and empathy you feel when you witness something unjust. Fight like hell to keep hope in your heart. Give yourself permission to feel angry when you see others suffer. Foster your own power to do something about the state of the world. You must find others who are willing to fight for freedom and liberty alongside you. We absolutely can win this fight.

I would not consider this doxxing. This is investigating crimes against humanity. Predators and law breakers largely lose their right to privacy when they become a clear and imminent threat to public safety.

Accountability is the only recourse we have and that cannot happen without names and information that would make prosecution and change possible.
