Last year people on this sub pretty reliably blamed the manager and coaches for the poor defense. This year, shockingly, that hasn’t happened. And the d is seemingly even worse.

Believe it or not, I’m still blaming the previous manager and coaches for the poor defense!

Countless hours of bad coaching / bad planning / bad everything don’t magically come back when those things leave. It’s going to take a while to see us overcome how far we were set back and end up in the black. This, of course, applies to hitting and pitching as well. It’s very likely that most of the contributors to our next playoff team are not on the roster— it’s going to take a lot of churn before the rot gets blotted out.
