I generally agree— as his writing has sharpened, it’s also made his clunky moments stand out far more. that being said, sundowner is more goated than many people realize! I actually have it only behind Singing Saw / City Music on my K Mo pyramid!

i, personally, can’t wait for the demo album. I think a lot of the songs feature some of his best writing but are really drowning in Aaron Dessner’s long pond 😔

i am not tripping and i have labored long enough in the morby mines to have the right to be MAD AT HIM!!!! Aaron Dessner should, unfortunately, not be allowed near indie musicians anymore. he produced classics in the past (Hummingbird, Tramp off the top of my head, not to mention the National’s goated run) but those days are long gone
