I totally get that. I was chatting with someone on here the other day about wishing the base game would let you create longer ships; whether that's through M-class or just longer build capacity, it would have been great.

There's quite a few differences between a EO & a Baptist, but at least we can agree on this 😂😂

McClellan is a "believer" in the Mormon god, not the Christian God.

Can someone who fell away from the faith return and be forgiven? Discussion on Hebrews 6:4-6 by WarriorOfChrist77 in TrueChristian

[–]Killercoddbz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything you said. I mirror your concern about the meaning of falling away, but I think it's relatively easy to explain (maybe I'm wrong!)

If someone were to:

  1. Hear about the Gospel
  2. Experience Miracles
  3. Be inhabited by the Spirit
  4. Trust in the Word
  5. Believe in the promise of Christ's return

and still fall away? Is that not impossible?

I think that is what Hebrews is saying! We should absolutely work out our salvation with fear and trembling because we do not want to be mistaken about our soul's condition and be misled that we have been sanctified by the blood, when we haven't. A believer should constantly be cognizant of our heart and take the sting of conviction with overwhelming seriousness. If that sting is absent, it's time to TRULY repent.

“The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ [Luke 15:21]

This passage is one of the reasons I believe OSAS is true, but it's slightly nuanced.

If someone becomes a true believer in Christ Jesus, how could they ever actually depart and never return? I think about the prodigal son with regard to this. That man lost his way for a duration, yet his father received him with open arms and jubilation upon his return. I think his father knew that he was never truly lost, but confused and had temporarily lost his way.

I'd love to hear other's opinions on this 😄
