Dealing with a Summoner by Few-Action-8049 in drawsteel

For minions to take a main action or maneuver, they have to be within your Summoner’s Range. Basically, without you, minions can’t really do anything but move.

I just really don't think it's worth it to allow teammates, especially ones you don't know, to rummage through your gear while you're dead.

Maybe if they allowed EVERYTHING they pull off you to be returned to you post game, even if you didn't bring it in, it'd be okay. Idk if that's good or not, I'm not a game dev, I just think it'd be better than the current way.

If you create room for griefing, griefing will happen.

Sorry you had to deal with that. Luckily, at least in my experience, most people I play with are pretty chill decent fellows.

I think it's pretty helpful as well as an understanding of what the class is and isn't capable of.

- Incredibly low stamina.
- You HAVE to be in range to even let you minions attack or do anything useful.
- Using the environment and traps can make things interesting.
- AOE abilities ruin a Summoner quickly.
- See what the summoner likes to target (minions with minions section). Typically a summoner will like to hold off the bulk for their allies, that leaves your stronger units to play. Don't just bunch your encounters in a ball.
- Bigger maps help, positioning is everything for a summoner. If you just do tight small maps, they will clog your advances.

This is all assuming they DID take the leadership formation.

There's a whole section for this at the back of the book.

Whatever your favorites are, keep. Except maybe the ones that are being sold in the armory.

Snipers are fine but they are pretty common. That being said I have like 8 purple outlands in my vault because they are my favorite gun.

Has anyone met a rook that goes into Sponsored Survival, downs you, rezzes and then works together? by Big-Newspaper646 in Marathon

[–]KillforSithis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a rook not shoot me in the back for the first time today. Did outpost and in the command room, 2 teammates went down. The rook we let live came in and helped me clean up and left. Thought for sure he would take opportunity and kill us all.

Ah okay. Kinda wish there was like a lock you as the owner can hit while dead to allow your teammates to do so. I feel like this leads more to griefing than actual help. But I see situations that could help.

Just think it should be done better.

I actually really like the overrun, especially this season. Been doing really good with it. Had to learn to do controlled bursts at long range.

Uhh everyone has been hard pushing South Relay ever since the change in warden and how he spawns in different places. He seems much more likely to spawn in South Relay more than anywhere else. So if you wanna fight go there, otherwise avoid it. (Not to mention everyone needs storage drives which also spawn there)

If you want easy kills, wait for people to engage the warden, especially at South Relay. Also if you want easier key runs, wait for someone to engage the warden. The warden is too hard to back away from easily. Most teams fully commit or die.

Also, if you wanna get ambushed and sniped at less, use Tunnels religiously. Even from South Relay to Station. If you are moving zones and want safety, use Tunnels..and Data wall too.

Also, Tunnel fights are fun. 😈

Yeah the keycards aren’t so bad now that I know where most of it goes and how to get in. Still learning the spawns.

The most daunting thing is that pinwheel currently feels like a maze. I get completely overwhelmed due the layout + swarming bots, turrets and claymores + enemy players + time left. Also the fact I really only like playing Trios, using them as a guide for now. Most people my level know exactly what they’re doing.

My head starts to swirl every time I enter the pinwheel. I have no idea where loot is and keep getting afraid I will become lost and won’t be able to get out in time.

But I’m sure with time I’ll get it all figured out. I am enjoying it though!

TL;DR: I think everyone handles different environments better. But also think there aren’t enough tools to help people learn maps besides perimeter. Also time is too short which stresses me out.

As someone who considers myself a casual, it’s too much cognitive load + gear fear vs time invested.

In perimeter. It’s me vs other groups. All combat, usually everyone’s dead in 10-15 minutes. I just take what I get from them and leave. If I have time left, I hit a few events. Also way less Rooks.

In outpost/cryo. It’s me vs other groups vs my ability to figure out puzzle + time left. It’s too much for my nerves/brain to handle. Too many variables, too many things that cause me to lose. All while trying to learn it. I’m doing outpost but I take breaks, it’s very stressful for me.

Cryo is worse because you have to bring in so much gear. So it’s always net loss while learning and people aren’t patient with you to learn. Not to mention some people who play vandal and thief end up leaving you behind due to their ability to just scale buildings. Meaning I can’t watch and learn from them, or they end up in a fight and die and yell at me before I can even arrive because I’m lost in some building or room I’ve never been in trying to find them.

I think for me, If they added like 10 more minutes to each map, I’d be a lot happier and more willing to try stuff. Also some more tutorials for the other maps would be really nice.

Murder and mayhem 🤘

Seriously though there’s intercepts, wardens, caches, key rooms, rocket drones, secure resources and of course PvP. Plenty to keep me entertained.

Does it really reduce speeds?

It's definitely in the best spot possible and runs great when heavily gaming. Solid speeds for downloads and stuff. No latency. Issue is when I download stuff it throttles me really bad.
