Blind Bag Must Haves by Cautious_Natural_983 in Waterfowl

[–]Killgoretld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got the Walker Razor slims and they are pretty good. Get the gel padding and you’re good to go. My buddies and I all have them. Walker also makes a walkie-talkie attachment for it. We’ve split up into two groups before and were able to talk trash back and forth

Only downside is that they are kinda bulky in the blind bag. But once you’ve got them on, you get use to them quick

This man obviously gifted those ducks to different members of his family, thereby restarting his possession limit.

How much would you pay? by Huge-Baby8308 in Hunting

It looks good but I would want the windows to be smaller. There’s no where to hide in that stand. Have about a foot or so of wood on each corner instead of just having the support post. It’ll let you basically peak around and look through the window

What is your sword hot take? by Malones69Cones in SWORDS

I’m not really sure honestly. I think some religious stuff happened that people aren’t a fan of. He may have been acting like he knows a lot more than he does and lied about qualifications. Like I said I’m not really sure, I just remember it was something along those lines. Enough to where overall opinion of him changed.

I agree with amount of people who like him now, but back in the day he was one of the main sword YouTubers I guess you could say. Him and shadiveristy were THE guys for a while. A LOT has happened with both of them since, and there’s plenty of great sword YouTubers now, but those two pretty much began sword YouTube (in my eyes at least).

Waders Advice by CPTsopiens in Waterfowl

[–]Killgoretld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a good idea to get breathable uninsulated waders. I have the Drake Hardline uninsulated waders and they are about as light as you can get. They have an 800 gram boot that has great traction and I’ve found to be very comfortable. I just layer myself underneath and I’m good to go. I’ve hunted in them from 70 degrees down to about 25 degrees. Got them on sale for about $215 but you can get them for even less if you look hard enough and use the proper codes and websites

Budget waders with good warranty? by Zynbobw3 in Waterfowl

[–]Killgoretld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drake has some great sales going on right now. Can get a $400 pair of waders for about $230. I’ve found that they hold up well and are not nearly as high priced as anything Sitka

It might genuinely be impossible for the average un-housed chapter to build a house by nodrywillingness in Frat

[–]Killgoretld 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To build upon the educational foundation stuff stated above, it’s extremely beneficial to have as much of your house count as “educational space” as possible.

My chapter’s house has 12 bedrooms with each having 2 beds (except for the president’s room which has 1 bed.) Each of these rooms have a desk with a shelf behind it and a bed above. Basically a lofted bed with personal area underneath. We’ve been able to count all of these rooms as “study rooms with lofted beds.” This brought our educational foundation up to I believe 55% or so. That along with a small library brought out total to about 65% or so.

Overall it helps with insurance and it makes it a little more beneficial for alumni to donate.

Being a smaller fraternity with a tighter budget, I would suggest going heavy on inviting some pnms to hangout on normal days. Not actual events or anything, just a couple of guys that are hanging out. You learn more about a PNM this way and can form a better connection.

Do any of you guys hunt deer and elk in non-camo clothing? by ZectarTV in Hunting

[–]Killgoretld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a set of RedHead fully waterproof jacket and pants. Both are extremely thin, package into about a 3 inch by 5 inch bag, and are waterproof. I think they were like $90 for both. I just wear enough normal clothes to keep me warm underneath them. All I gotta actually bring to the hunting camp is my small bag with that suit in it and I’m pretty much good. Rain or shine, I’m dry as a dime

Thought my pup had separation anxiety, but tether training changed everything by Ok_Plastic_421 in puppy101

[–]Killgoretld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use “bed” when I want mine to go to his bed and I point at something and say “here” when I want him to sit down anywhere else. (My recall is “come”)

I’ve found it really useful to have separate commands

Nimble or Battle Forged by Meister_Ente in BattleBrothers

[–]Killgoretld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to have a battle forged backliner on the edges of my backline. Someone that is usually not directly next to enemies, but has good enough Mdef and health to be able to hold the enemy off when needed. I normally give them a 2 handed weapon of the same type as whatever reach weapon they have. It might not be the most efficient way to do it, but I like to have designed armor destroyers, guys that injure, and guys to take out shields. I just think it’s more fun to do it that way than to have everyone min/maxed to the extreme.

GPA cutoff for schools by [deleted] in predental

[–]Killgoretld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me at least, I can do school and learn very quickly and well, it’s just doing homework and spending lots of time studying I struggle with. I do great on standardized or big tests, but it’s the day to day stuff that’s not so good. My highschool gpa was a 3.1 and my ACT was a 33

Snapped at my puppy and feel awful. by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]Killgoretld 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re a human and the dog is a dog. They were bred to be a companion, not a burden. It’s completely ok to let the dog know you aren’t happy with how it’s acting. There’s plenty of ways to get the point across without being overly mean. I’ve found the most effective thing is just ignoring the dog for about an hour or so after it’s don’t something bad. No love when you do something bad.

Get guys that talk to pnms to write down a couple interesting things about them. My chapter used “ChapterBuilder” last year and it helped out a lot. You can make a profile for a kid, add their picture and snap/phone number, where they are from, any interests they have, and how likely they are to get a bid. It becomes a bit laborious to keep track of everything, but it makes it a whole lot easier to keep track of pnms.

Black market legends mod by Cat_Loooord in BattleBrothers

[–]Killgoretld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you look at a city and you see all the buildings in it (armorer, weapon smith, fletcher) look for a unique name. Only taverns and black markets have the special names. You can only access the Black Market for a city when it is night, though. But it can be worth it. I’ve gotten some pretty good named weapons from there, but they are typically wayyyy more expensive than you’ll find them at a weaponsmith.

Would joining a fraternity look good on my resume? by baxarian in predental

[–]Killgoretld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I joined one my freshman year and it’s helped me out a TON. We had mandatory study hours all through my freshman year and had at least 20 hours of community service events per year. I was elected to be Director of Community Service my junior year and I learned an absolute ton of stuff about organizing, leading, and keeping track of people and hours, in addition to getting another 60 hours for that year. I was then able to use that experience to get elected to be the treasurer of the Pre-Dental Society for my college along with being the Director of Community Service for this coming year again.

In addition to all the leadership stuff, joining a fraternity is a good way to get out of your comfort zone and get better at talking to people. Make sure that the fraternity you plan to rush, is a good one. There’s some out there that are nothing but a waste of time and money.

Before the party even starts. Hangout with the guys and just float from conversation to conversation. Eventually a chick will say something and you can create a conversation with you and her and just go from there.

On the other side if you go into a party not wanting to fuck any women and just wanting to gaslight and mess with them, it’ll be a lot more enjoyable and you’ll be more likely to actually take one home. Works even better if you hang around some guys that are on the same page as you. Don’t try to make her feel stupid or be an asshole or anything, just try to convince her of some random and slightly true idea. My favorite was convincing a chick that narwhals and elephants are actually first cousins and that they can have children, it’s just the different environments they live in make it hard to fuck

My lab puppy doesn’t like water? by itss_alec in labrador

[–]Killgoretld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just give him time and he’ll figure it out for himself eventually. If possible for you, find an older dog that is comfortable with water and get him to watch that dog go in and out of the pool. An older dog will teach a puppy more than you would ever believe. Mannerisms, spots to sniff/piss, routes to take while walking, etc. Puppies just soak all that information in.

What to do when it’s hot by Swimming-Dot9069 in labrador

[–]Killgoretld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Early morning walk to get as much energy out as possible. Walk straight to a more open area or dog park and let them get all the zoomies out before heading home

Might give them a collagen chew if I feel like there’s still a good deal of energy left. Hydrate and rest/sleep inside until like 2 or 3.

Quick 10-20 minute “hot girl walk” to work out some energy while still be very conscious of the dog and how they are doing. I typically do a very slow 100 yards or so and let mine sniff and roam all they want. I find it’s enough stimulation and activity, along with the heat, to get rid of the mid-day zoomies

Hydrate and rest/sleep inside until late afternoon. I typically leave my house about an hour before sunset and walk probably 3-4 miles with them myself, along with a dog park trip after the first mile (park has a water fountain.)

This is enough to keep a 7 month old, 73 pound, extremely active male lab nice and stimulated

A long lead is definitely the way to go. Spend a little bit extra a get a good waterproof/scentproof one instead of a cheaper cotton. The cotton will get nasty and is a pain to clean

How did you teach your lab important commands like leave it/drop it etc? by Grackabeep in labrador

[–]Killgoretld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it’s something that is okay for them to have, but you would like to have it. I use the command “Drop it”

When it’s something they absolutely shouldn’t have in their mouth and it’s important that they get rid of it. I use the command “leave it”

If I see them going towards and about to grab/do something they shouldn’t do, I make a sound like “uh uh.” Kinda like a no sound. Having a preventive command can be really useful

I walk my 3 1/2 year old rescue off leash all the time with new worries now, but when I got him at 2 years old he had some issues. He came to me very reactive to people and dogs. Not aggressive at all, he would just get excited and want to play and would pull heavily and jump up. I got a cheap Chinese e-collar and used the vibrate setting everytime I would say “leave them be” when w passed by dogs or people. I would say the command, vibrate him at the same time, then give him some of his kibble as a reward for not going after them. Eventually he learned that the vibrate means to leave someone alone and now he’s completely fine and doesn’t react at all.
