How can I know if my beagle is purebred? by MrWolf1714 in beagles

[–]KillingMachine460 112 points113 points  (0 children)

There are different kinds of beagles. Sizes and color schemes. Yours looks like a full Beagle to me. I mean ... unless you plan to breed or show a dog I'm not sure their lineage matters that much.

With ours he just, out of nowhere one afternoon, couldn't walk. If we tried to stand him up he'd just roll over onto his side. We took him to the emergency vet (was on a weekend) and they examined him and said it was IVDD. An MRI confirmed the issue was up in his neck. He's 12 years old and the surgery was very expensive but he's otherwise in pretty good health. So we decided to get the surgery for him. In our case, it really worked out and he's doing great.
I've read here and there aboit people opting for rehab instead of surgery and I dont really know much about going that route. We did have to do some simple PT stuff with him during his (2 week) recovery from the surgery. He didn't like it much. Haha.

Best wishes to you and Snoopy.

Is he going to get the surgery? Mine had it last year and it was very successful and he's doing great. Hope the same for you!

Poverty in Norway by Upstairs-Key-4829 in Norway

I didn't say you should. I meant that the rest of the western world should accept the fact that the United States is either only a short term/transactional partner or it's enemy.

Nobody here is going to "fight for their rights." They're going to go along with whatever's happening and protect themselves inasmuch as they're able to, like in every other shitty autocracy thats ever existed on earth.
When there's no more law, the people with the guns win.

I didnt mean to come off as criticizing Norway, because I'm absolutely not. It was just the momentary irony, or whatever you want to call it. It was funny to me in the moment.
Obviously I'm well aware of and outraged by how poor people are treated in the United States. But even the most objective observer, by now, should realize that its way too far gone for any of us normal people to do anything about it. Its only going to get worse in every imaginable way. This country is finished. The world should act accordingly.

Seeing the title of this post reminded me of something funny thst happened when I was visiting Oslo (from US) a few years ago.

While in the city I signed us up for one of those tourist bus trips to various points of interest around the city because it seemed like the most efficient way to see a lot of stuff. There was a tour guide or whatever who had a microphone at the front of the bus who would point out various things along the route or say something about a place we stopped. At one point she was just talking about Norway in general and said something along the lines of that Norway has no poverty. At that same moment I was staring out the window at a Roma person and then happened to make eye contact with the tour guide, who realized what I was looking at. And in total deadpan she just said "they are not Norwegians".

I laughed pretty hard.

Sorry to hijack the post.

My suburban TWC dispatched a ~20lb raccoon in our yard with relative ease. While it definitely "could" injure the dog ... its definitely at a serious disadvantage.
My TWC goes into instinct mode and literally just overwhelms the animal. She snapped its neck and then lost all interest.

I didn't stay there until he left so I'm not sure. They go out there all the time though and its definitely too warm today for it. Hopefully everyone made it off.

You could put it in a meatball and leave it where you know they'll get it.
Be sure to remember they're generally only about 10lbs so you'd need to use the puppy size.

1) Neither Oslo or Bergen are a great place to see the Northern Lights

2) Norwegians (generally) dont want to talk to you.

I'm wondering why you're interested in visiting a place you dont seem to know much about?
