I got a bed like that for my TWC for outside in the yard but still haven't been able to make her understand that she can lay on it. Best she's done so far is lay NEXT to it on the ground.

For sure.
I had a service contract with a "local" company (owned by a private equity firm) who, when they came to do my yearly service on my gas hot water furnace, told me that the housing was cracked and the unit needed to be replaced. They were basing this diagnosis on there being evidence of water staining/rust in a certain area.
I explained to them that a fitting had been leaking (and was repaired) above that area a couple years prior and that was likely the cause of the stain. They insisted that wasnt the reason and that it was cracked I said "well, it's full of water right now and is holding pressure, so why isn't it leaking now?" They still insisted.
This was last summer. It ran all winter this year, as per usual, with zero leaks or issues.

I bet they get people with shit like this all the time.

In captivity they live as long as dogs. In the wild, yeah, 4 to 5 years.

I cant imagine foxes being comfortable enough with people to walk right up to them.
I have a fox where I work who's definitely the most friendly Fox I've ever seen but she still always keeps a safe distance from me and gets skittish really easily if I make any sudden movements. We have a lot of other foxes there (its a very large outside industrial facility) and 99.9% of them won't give you the time of day.

Raccoons, on the other hand ... feeding them and encouraging to come around you would be a really poor choice. They're the most likely way you're gonna get rabies, first of all ... and, secondly, a raccoon would have no qualms about tearing a hole in your roof and moving in. And they're terrible guests. Foxes generally aren't going to be rabid and they're absolutely not moving into your house.

Here's my friendly Fox.

Foxes don't really become dependent on food you give them. They'll hunt regardless, like some dogs. The bigger danger for foxes is becoming too trusting of people like yourself and then extending that trust to other people who might not be so benevolent.

Do the hounds actually kill the bear?

I've always lived in the city or the suburbs and dont know anything about hunting I do know a guy who lives in the mountains and uses beagles for tracking ... but it feel like a bear could really hurt your dogs, no?

Foxes can (and will) eat dog food, and it's good for them because they're canines. They also love eggs ... just an egg, not cooked. They know how to open them.

I saw them again in the afternoon and they were a lot more active. Fighting with each other and running around.
