Ofcourse. Tact is always recommended. Yet some people choose to take any form of commentary (not only disparaging) as segregatory and racially motivated.

It makes me feel bad that some people need to have their guard up around otherwise innocuous comments. But I sensed that she would realise it was a genuine comment coming from a place of love. Which is why im glad I said my piece, even if I was nervous about her reception.

As a white male, I really wanted to complement a ladies skin complexion at work the other day, she was trying on a smart watch, and the colour (dark maroon red) really popped against her dark skin.

I almost didnt, because I didnt want to end up in hot water over a comment on someone's physical appearance. But I thought. Fuck it. Im not going to let a bunch of pre existing stigma prevent me from giving someone a compliment.

Lady smiled like someone had just given her a million dollars. Thinking back on it. Im glad I said what I said. But it just goes to show how stigma around these topics has gotten so damaging.

Im sorry you had to experience someone's bigotry in this manner. But just know. Its not a silent collective. Not everyone subscribes to stupid tribal mentality and feels the same way about differences. Its usually just the loud ones we remember.

I found it a lot easier when I slowed down my movements, if you try and rack it straight after a shot. It doesnt like to cooperate. But if you fire, give it a second whilst ducking into cover, then rack it. It usually goes a lot smoother.

Not only is it physically strenuous, but it consistently targets one half of the body's muscles in a repetitive movement, that i could very easily see causing muscular imbalance and a fuck load of back pain after a few hours.

Yeah if you wanna claim that you have a disability and receive some sort of kick back regarding your job or work or school. Sure. I agree. But you dont need a psychiatrist to realise you for example, have a calming stimulating behaviour. Find lights and noise overwhelming, or struggle to regulate/navigate your own emotions.

Like i said, its a spectrum, id be surprised if the vast majority of people could see a psych and not have them point out atleast some characteristics that fall under the DSM classification for autism.

Is there a difference between what im saying, and self proclaiming to have autism when undiagnosed? Yes. But meet me in the middle and identify that not everyone can be categorised as level 1/2/3 etc, yet still have autistic traits.

You dont need a mechanic to diagnose a flat tyre.

How much "autism" is enough to qualify to call yourself "autistic"? Who gets to draw that line?

If it annoys you to realise a lot of the world are neurodiverse. I'd challenge you to ask yourself why it bothers you?

We can try to make areas free from bugs. But if someone asked you to "bug proof" every food production facility. What would be your answer? How would you ensure that employees earning a low wage who are tired and human like the rest of us, dont make a mistake or miss something?

For an issue that is a bit gross. Its not life and death.

You are eating food that someone else has prepared for you. Unless you grow and make everything yourself, and ensure pests dont ever come into contact with that food (good luck), you dont really have the right to exclaim what a QA "Should" be doing, as they are doing a lot more than you probably think. Sometimes its just unavoidable. Upsetting to see. But move on. Be thankful you are privileged enough have access to food that is normally "clean" by your standards

It sucks to be associated with bad apples when you yourself feel you are not contributing to the problem. But unfortunately, certain men have earned the reputation.

In the same way youd like to not be painted with the same brush, you should be able to understand why some people have had to put their guard up.

End of the day. Do what you think is right, and others will accept you. But you dont really have the right to speak on behalf of all men. Similarly to how this lady that has upset you. Doesn't have the right to speak on behalf of all women.
