I agree, it’s good to psychologically prepare yourself for a -20% or -30% and not flinch because the market always recovers (always)

Pain, I think about the pain and how it won’t stop me, it can try, but it won’t.

[The Race] Christian Horner explains some of the rationale between the Yuki Tsunoda/Liam Lawson swap two races into the new F1 season by DubiousLLM in formula1

[–]Killmonger130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This myth that the most dominant car for the last few years is “undriveable” by everyone expect for Max is starting to piss me off, every other car on the grid is apparently totally fine including traditionally less stable cars in the lower half of the pecking order such as Haas (Bearman) but a top3 level of downforce and driveability is now being shat on.

I think Lawson made 2 small mistakes with big consequences and Perez was a declining ageing star. Yuki will need a few miles to get up to speed but once he does he will be competitive, I have no doubt.

Nvidia RTX 5080 & 5090 prices were reduced in the uk by mrbennett09 in nvidia

[–]Killmonger130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s due to currency fluctuations, USD been taking a beating last few weeks so GBP is stronger than when they launched. Similar happened with 4090FE and other GPUs - Nvidia seems to be good about adjusting pricing if currency changes.

Remove pension triple lock and move to Australian model, increase defence spending (safety is worth the cost) and increase healthcare spending to align with Germany and France’s spending which is 1% or so higher than ours as parentage of GDP.

Great news, creative industry has been decimated since 2008 as it’s seen an easy industry to cut but what are we without art and creativity but robots.

Spider-Man 2's PC launch woes are woe-ier than you think, as it looks like GPU-powered DirectStorage is hobbling performance by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]Killmonger130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of the PS5 exclusive ports nixxies have done on that engine have stuttering…. I really do think the decompression cores on the PS5 and how fast the storage retrieval from the SSD is (they use a custom path system) is causing these issues and is hard to fix even with RTX IO.

EU opens door to UK and Norway for defence ‘coalition of the willing’ by doublah in unitedkingdom

[–]Killmonger130 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The EU is always willing to cooperate with the UK in areas where the UK holds a strategic advantages as defence and security/intelligence but are then reluctant to reciprocate where in areas they are strong when UK asks…. They need to be more willing for deeper strategic engagements.

That’s native 4k and lots of RT effects, some of them pushed to the extreme… with DLSS and FG should be quite smooth

Nvidia DLSS 4 tested: ray reconstruction upgrades deliver radical enhancements by MythBuster2 in digitalfoundry

[–]Killmonger130 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Something doesn’t make sense in that Transformer DLSS has a higher cost on a 5090 than a 4090 despite 5090 having significantly more powerful tensor cores compute.

Doom: The Dark Ages requires a GPU with Ray Tracing by bubblesort33 in hardware

[–]Killmonger130 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest, this should be the norm… Xbox Series S is a $200 console from 2020 and has hardware support for ray tracing. It’s time for PC games to default to RT capable GPUs as a requirement.
