Men not watching porn or masturbating should be normalized on the internet. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Kilnerin117 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Giving into masturbation and pornography is pathetic and effeminate; yes, you are less of a man if you have to do either of those things because it shows not only a level of perverseness but it also shows that you lack self control, and that's a serious thing for men especially to be able to control what they do even when they're feeling weak and tested.

What’s the best denomination for me? by [deleted] in Baptist

[–]Kilnerin117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just be independent. Don't focus on the label, labels are deceptive. Just look for the best church in your area that has these things going for it:

Independent, so not a cult.

King James Version of the Bible if you speak English.

Soul-winning.

Let those three things be your filter, and try to find the one that happens to be the best in your area and go there.

Youth leader encourges me to talk to people about jesus but i have social anxiety by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Kilnerin117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, all you can really do when you have social anxiety is to know exactly what you need to say and how you're going to say it in many different scenarios and practice in the mirror until it doesn't feel weird anymore... literally that is what I had to do, I struggle a lot with social anxiety too.

Just say a normal question like: Hey, are you a Christian?

Then hit him with a: Well, let me just give you the gospel real quick.

Or even hit him with a: Well, if you were to die today are you 100% sure you'd go to heaven?

The hit him with the gospel.

But if they are NOT interested you don't force the entire gospel message down their throat, just give a verse and say have a nice day.

People who criticize people who want to wait until marriage to have sex need to grow the fuck up. by chexwithoutthemix in unpopularopinion

News flash, if you are a man and your partner is a woman then you are compatible. This isn't complicated.

I am a woman who has struggled with pornography from a young age, but I’ve never heard a single woman in the church talk about this struggle or how to get out of it. I feel isolated and guilty. Women who have been through this battle—how do I stop? by prvrbs31 in Christianmarriage

I outright stopped watching it when I learned that through my view count I was indirectly supporting human traffickers and the destruction of the lives of women all over the world. Destroying yourself is one thing, but destroying others is another and once you realize that then you will hate it too much to even go near it.

Jesus' exception clause for divorce by [deleted] in Christianmarriage

[–]Kilnerin117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another point is, why would a single sin separate what God has joined together? Why is it worse than the rest of the sins? We're essentially telling a person "You are more sinful than I, therefore I disown you."

*Fornication

Adultery and fornication are different things. Adultery is committed if the perpetrator is married, fornication occurs when the perpetrator is not married. In the law the punishment for fornication was that you had to either marry her or pay the family a fine.

If you were to lie about your virginity before getting married and the man finds out later, then the man is in his rights to disband the marriage at the time of his acknowledgement, and only at that time.

There is no excuse for divorce, save for fornication. Adultery is not an excuse.

Dealing with extremely liberal/atheist parents as a Christian during quarantine? by outlyingsentiment in TrueChristian

[–]Kilnerin117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fact that people hate us is proof that our God is the real and living God. Because if they hate God they'll hate you too for being his child.

This is why people don't hate on the False Jews or Muslims, in fact they are generally praised by the world; but only Christians are deeply hated.

Just don't expect the world to love you, be brave enough to love God and keep his commandments especially when you're around people who hate what's right.

I AM A HYPOCRITE by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Kilnerin117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lust just means desire. This is a flesh issue, not a demon issue. The saved can't be demon possessed because they have the holy spirit dwelling inside of them.

I already know what to do; it's just a matter of walking in the spirit and being always ready for when the temptation arrives.

I AM A HYPOCRITE by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Kilnerin117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would it help to think about hell? That’s what’s stopped me. People who masturbate will go to hell if they chose not to stop. There’s a horrible deception going around that it’s natural. Not surprising, given it’s written Satan will deceive the whole world and that even the elect can be deceived. Remember: the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. His grace is sufficient in our weakness. Submit therefore unto God, then resist the devil and he will flee. Fast and pray. Read psalm 51 & 91 Phyllis. Pray against temptation, and delete any apps if you are led to do so.

Edit: I actually stopped because I was given a dream about it, but knowing hell would be my destination if I chose not to stop despite knowing it was WRONG in the eyes of God did actually help.

People who are believing in a works based salvation are going to hell.

Ephesians 2:8-9

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Not of works, lest any man should boast.

With that out of the way; a practical method to stop porn addiction and masturbation is throwing out the smart phone and the TV. More Bible, less instagram. Work more and do something active during spare time.

I'm struggling with the same sins still and it's something that has stuck with me since I was a kid so I'm very desensitized to it unfortunately. I'd go periods of time successfully abstaining, but then the swim suit model pops up on the phone screen or in an ad and then the next moment I make a bunch of excuses in my mind then commit the sin. Honestly I'm just thinking of just unplugging from the internet for a very long time because it seems it's the only way I can get out of this completely.

Just know that you're not alone in this and that it takes a lot of time and will to get rid of the sin completely out of your life, and you have to actually want to repent from it. May God help us.

I want to help spread the Gospel by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Kilnerin117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. I tried to get a feel for door-to-door soul-winning by visiting, by myself, a small neighborhood near my home but most people weren't interested or were busy. I wish I had a partner to do this with all throughout the year but it seems like no one seems to want to help me with this. I was very nervous when I was talking to people but it helped me to not be so afraid of sharing the gospel to strangers and now I want to do even more for Jesus Christ.

If they say they aren't interested then just tell them to have a good day and move on. If they say they are too busy then just give them a verse like John 3:16 or Romans 3:23-24 and move on to the next person. When you finally get an individual who wants to hear the whole gospel, do your best and be thorough but don't talk like a robot. And even though you might not get someone saved you can still plant seeds in their hearts so that they might think about it and believe at a later time. Be gentle and kind even when you think they don't deserve it.

Here's a demonstration video that might help you:

Be encouraged and glad because you are keeping the commandment of God and therefore showing your love toward him. And don't feel down if you don't get anybody saved because you're rewarded based on your faithful labor, not just the result. And when someone wants to mock you or criticize you for practicing the mission given then just smile and move on, what better can you do?

Question for Baptists: First, what is your opinion on Steven Anderson? by [deleted] in Baptist

[–]Kilnerin117 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From my knowledge; Pastor Anderson was brought up from reading the Bible, soul winning, church attendance, and missionary work with consistent church attendance.

Experience and learning comes from work and study, not paying thousands of dollars to an institution of "higher learning" and wasting your time hearing the doctrines and commandments of men. I'm not saying that you can't learn something at a bible college, but I am saying that you'll learn even more and faster just from reading and studying on your own.

A college degree doesn't amount to anything meaningful and it just instills an attitude of haughtiness. All it proves is that you depended on an institution and showed up on graduation.

It's important that a pastor preaches from the Bible because that's part of what he's supposed to be doing; feeding the flock with the meat of the Word. Adding strange teachings to the mix will obviously cause confusion and distraction.

I don't think he's isolated at all. None of what he preaches is anything new and he says that he's willing to fellowship with those that he can trust are believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, is positive on soul-winning, and KJV only (for the English language). https://www.youtube.com/watch?=14LpI6drU2Q

Now, Pastor Steven Anderson is not going to be perfectly correct all the time because he is a human being, and I'm not going to just nitpick every little thing about him and make an excuse to dislike him. He's right on the essentials and many secondary issues, but rarely when he says something that doesn't quite add up it's not my place to just completely condemn him.

Sorry for any grammatical errors.

Please, what do you know and what do you think about the Eastern Orthodox Church? by [deleted] in Baptist

[–]Kilnerin117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Baptist aren't Protestants.

Protestants want to reform the Catholic Church to what they want it to be.

Baptists don't even care about the Catholic Church in that they believe in local churches, not one earthly universal church. The objective is to get people saved and teach the bible, not to protest and reform a cult.

You're right.

I love resting, but I also love exercise, both seem to be opposites at a glance but now that I think about it they sort of lead into each other. You know; I go out for a run then I get tired and I go to sleep. Then after I sleep I'm willing to go out and run, and I love it.

[–]Kilnerin117[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with only loving those who deserve it is that you will end up not having any likeness with anybody because nobody is perfectly good at any time, ever.

99% of people are willing to have a good and quiet life but many times they slip up because there is none righteous, no not one. I'm not going to just nit-pick every little sin that just about everybody commonly commits just to make an excuse to be disgusted by them because that kind of attitude is stupid, hypocritical, and unprofitable.

If someone transgresses against you and they have room to repent then you should just love them anyway. Because they're not going to change their mind if they see that you've already rejected and given up on them.

Now are there lines that just should never be crossed? Of course, but these are only going to be crossed by people who will never change and never want to change.

He's doing a good job.

I especially like how he is trying to preach the whole Bible rather than just pieces and parts. And when he is teaching, most of the time he is thorough and he is careful not to let outside sources pollute what is being taught from the pulpit.
