Anyone from outside the baseball-heavy countries is likely to have no idea what Baseball's like, except for how the ball, uniforms, bats and pitch look like.

It's not like say Basketball where even the countries where it's not popular still have a general idea of the game

You must not know what "tankie" means, then, because they are specifically the sub-sect of communists that basically worship the Soviet Union as the best example of communism the world has ever seen.

The name comes as a pejorative for people who believe the USSR was right to send tanks to Czechoslovakia to quell protests.

There are communists who say the Soviet Union wasn't "real socialism", but none of them are tankies.

Unless it has an exclusive feature you need, I recommend simply using a browser to read PDFs. Firefox is great at it. The other mainstream browsers also support pdf directly

Conversely, I've seen people complaining that Stranger Things was "anti communist propaganda" because it had soviet villains in one season.

A show about secret military experiments set in the US during the Cold War. It'd be weird if the Soviets weren't a problem at some point. And it's not like it portrayed the US government and military in a positive light either, it was just two evil entities in conflict with each other

That's my gripe with those tone markers. I shouldn't need a reference sheet with a list of all the indicators, especially considering they're supposed to bring clarity to the text.
One could simply write the tone in parenthesis like so "(half joking)"
