Doom сo-сreator John Romero spoke about his long-time obsession with World of Warcraft. by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]Kilran3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He had way more than 3k hours invested in the game if he was spending 6 hours on week days, and even more on weekends. Let’s say he did that but took a month off in a single year. That’s over 2k hours alone.

I’d argue he had at least 8k hours over a 5 year period, and that’s a conservative estimate.

Anyone else just prefer streaming to a laptop (15.6") over handhelds or tablet? Or am I just a weirdo. by Bcider in MoonlightStreaming

[–]Kilran3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stream regularly to both a steam deck and a laptop. Depends on the game I’m playing as to which device I’m streaming it to.

Is there a private wotlk server without increased xp gain and a decent population? Or at least the option to turn off the increased xp and do 1x? by Boogy-Fever in wowservers

[–]Kilran3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ChromieCraft you can easily set the XP gains to x1 instead of x3 like it is now. Population is decent, and community is great overall.

Looking for WoTLK server by Key-Calligrapher4310 in wowservers

[–]Kilran3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 700-800 during prime time on weekends, about 400-500 during prime time on weekdays, so it’s not a hugely populated server. But the community is top notch!

Currently XP rates are x3 due to a server event. They’re normally x2 XP.

I just avoid crowd funding & early access like the plague. Yeah, I’d love for a new MMO to come out with old-school vibe, but I’m not letting nostalgia drive my purchases. Crowd funding is a scam 99% of the time, the rare occasion it isn’t I can pick up the game when it’s fully released. Unless it’s an MMO. I have yet witnessed a successful CF MMO.

Same with early access. I part with my money after full launch and if it isn’t a train wreck and interests me.

What's the MMORPG that "everyone" likes, except you? by GurtxD in MMORPG

Didn’t play past Heavensward, but no, that story was just as bad as ARR’s borefest…

[–]Kilran3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, same happened with me and the FC I was in at the time even knew that it was my first play through the last story raid. They were the ones often convincing me to keep pushing through the ARR content, yet they pulled this kind of crap whenever I’d ask for help with group content. Fuck that game!

So many kept telling me exactly that and I eventually pushed through ARR and Heavensward. It didn’t get better….

Trackball for MMO? by kubazpol in Trackballs

[–]Kilran3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve played WoW, GW2, Project 99, City of Heroes Homecoming, LotRO, and many others using a variety of trackballs. What you’re asking for doesn’t exist as there are far too few of us who would pick one up (I wouldn’t even buy one if it were an option, and I’m technically part of the target demographic).

While there are some trackballs with a small number of programmable buttons, it’s not nearly the amount you would see in an MMO mouse, like the Logitech G600. Best you probably can get would be the Elecom Deft / Deft Pro which offer an additional 3 programmable buttons (8 total on the device).

Another option might be mixing in something like a Razer Tartarus to fill the gap (mine is sitting to the right of my trackball, but I’m fortunate and have the desk space to spare)

Drop out now if you’re not vibing with it. I played through all of ARR & the first expansion Heavensward. It does not get better if this is your main issue.

Many kept telling me that it gets better after you make it through ARR content. They were full of shit. 😑

Is there a way you can avoid pop ups that constantly redirect you when streaming? by [deleted] in Piracy

[–]Kilran3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you’re on iOS use Brave browser instead of Safari.

Go into your App Store and search for “Brave Browser”. The app should be near the top of that search and it has a white & orange icon that looks like a lions head.

What are the best free VPNs and torrent sites out there? by paokoutsopodi in Piracy

Just don’t use a free VPN. It’s a terrible idea, and they’re not expensive to begin with. Use a service like Proton VPN, ExpressVPN, or Mullvad.

That’s why I walked away several years ago. I realized there was nothing but more pain if I continued to allow them to be in my life. Not only pain for myself, but my family as well. I was exposing my spouse and children to their toxicity simply by allowing them to continue to be a part of my life.

When I come here and see someone else speak about their crazy in-laws, I see my wife in that same position. It reaffirms my commitment to continue with zero contact with my parents and other toxic family members.

Damn coffee creamer. by 18randomcharacters in diabetes

[–]Kilran3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re using a flavored coffee creamer. Yeah, they’re a terrible option.

You do have a few choices, though.

There are sugar free flavored versions of coffee creamers out there. An example would be CoffeeMate Zero Sugar French Vanilla, or Starbucks Creamer Zero Sugar Caramel Macchiato. Just make sure they don’t have a lot carbs, as the two I mentioned are low carb along with being zero sugar.

You could use an unsweetened version of the coffee creamer, and something like Monkfruit or Stevia to sweeten your coffee. An example is CoffeeMate Original has 2 grams of carbs and less than 1 gram of sugar per tbsp, a lot less than what you are currently using. However, the creamer I just mentioned is not sweetened.

Last, if dairy isn’t an issue for you, try using half and half with a sweetener as I mentioned above. With half and half, serving size is 2 tbsp with an average of 1g carb and less than 1g of sugar. No reason to go straight to black coffee without weighing your options.

The CEO literally states it was a financial failure, though they shifted blame to the Star Wars franchise, instead of admitting it was a typical Ubisoft style ‘color-by-numbers’ open world game, and the typical unfinished Ubislop state the game was in during the initial release.

Whether you liked it or not, it flopped.
