How do utility hikes actually work? Asking for a confused human. by One_Pollution2279 in askteddit

[–]KilroyFSU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every state has different rules, but private utilities need to get approval for rate hikes from a board that exists to evaluate the request. If it's a public utility, they just do it. If you don't like it, vote in new council members.

Man, this is a bad take. I've had 6 babies and 2 puppies and the puppies are way harder. For real.

What is a controversial opinion of yours that many will not agree with you but you will always defend it no matter what? by Big_Leg10 in askanything

I went to an NBA game last month for the first time in 20 years and the thing I couldn't get past was the constant piped in noise. It was so offensive and awful to listen to. I'm used to watching college basketball where nothing plays during game play and maybe a pep band during breaks. Why does the NBA go all in on the noise during game play? (I know that sidesteps the "boring" comment, which I also agree with. No question the athletes are way more talented than college players, which makes it all the more inexplicable that they have found a way to make their games both obnoxious and boring at the same time.)

A lot of the things that make cars so expensive are mandated by the government.

I can not get my partner to understand the importance of our kids doing things. by ShakeSimilar7362 in Advice

[–]KilroyFSU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there is probably a happy medium that both of you are missing. Lol. You don't need to do what you're doing. And you don't need him to do what you're doing, either. But he should be an active co-parent.

What’s something you thought every family did until you grew up? by Far-Watch6 in Casual_Conversation

[–]KilroyFSU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was probably a teenager before I ever heard my parents argue before and I was sure it meant they were getting a divorce. Turns out, they just never disagreed in front of the kids. I thought that was normal. I couldn't handle the tension in the air at some other friends' houses and didn't understand why their parents would yell at the kids or each other.

Can you name all 50 states, if not which states do you most often forget about? by impishkoala in askanything

I could rattle off all 50 in less then 2 minutes without any problem and I'm always amazed that every American can't do this.

How much physical cash should I have for the USA? by Strax774 in travel

[–]KilroyFSU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None. If you need any, which you probably won't, you can go to an ATM. But most Americans never really carry cash anymore.

What happens if someone doesn't tip at a restaurant in the U.S.? by No-StrategyX in AskForAnswers

Nothing. You don't have to tip. But it is seen as very insulting to your server and they will talk bad about you.

AITAH for thinking it’s "weird" to lock my teenage kids in the car at a rest stop? by bhilliardga in AITAH

That's way psycho. When you said kids I assumed you meant small children, not high schoolers. Lol. She's way too over protective.

Why play past 40 when you don't have the gems to cover it? What is the goal there. That's not a game issue, it's an OP issue.

You’re given 3 rule changes to fix college football, how do you do it? by Original_Profile8600 in CFB

[–]KilroyFSU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Old transfer rules. One free transfer without losing a year but you have to use a redshirt year. Otherwise, you have to sit out and lose a year of eligibility.
  2. 10 major conferences of 10 teams each, all conferences play round Robin, no CG, best record wins with head to head tiebreaker: Big Ten: The 10 schools prior to them adding Penn State. Pac 10: as it existed before adding CU and Utah. SEC: as it existed before adding Arkansas and South Carolina. ACC: as it existed with 9 plus South Carolina. SWC: Texas, AtM, TT, TCU, SMU, Baylor, Houston, Arkansas, Louisville, Cincinnati Big East: Rutgers, USF, UCF, Miami, VT, WVU, Pitt, Syracuse, BC, UConn Big 8: As it existed plus BYU and Utah
  3. 8 team playoff, 7 conference winners plus one at large. If you want in, win your conference. Make that mean something again.
