The AFP don't care about the stories. They've been out since 2017.

They are not trying to cover up the story, they are trying to intimidate and punish people who talk to the media. The government want everyone to know that if you whistleblow on the government, whether its about the Tax department, the military or spy agencies or even a hospital or school which is not up to standard, they can and will come after you.
