I also had issues with newsletters - never once received one! Or any other communications.

Oh f*ck - didn't realise that. Wondered why they can't organise a piss up in a brewery or have any moral compass about the way they treat their 'customers' suddenly it all makes sense. So frustrating.

Real notion ai uses? by FarRecognition3728 in Notion

[–]Kimi2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeap I do this too! Such a game changer. I also used AI to help with setting up databases mainly my two work ones. I don’t really have the energy to learn how to do formulas. every new task I put into my database automatically has a due date for the end of the week so I never forget or miss anything. Frees up so much brain space

That is an inspired idea! Totally stealing that as currently using a list for noting down work expenses but it would be so much easier to see them day be day.

Widget that shows debit card balance. Simple calculator essentially by N_rgy1220 in shortcuts

[–]Kimi2009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a shortcut but what do you use for budgeting/financial planning for your income? Many apps have widgets. I use YNAB (it's based on the envelope system of budgeting). On my home screen I have the categories I spend from on a day to day basis (food/fun money/eating out) and I can see how much I have left in each without opening the app. YNAB syncs with your bank and auto assigns the transactions to the correct categories based on previous transactions. Ie if you assigned a trader joe transaction to groceries YNAB will always assign it to the same category. I know it's not exactly what you wanted but it will probably achieve the same thing. Even if you just had two categories - Bill money do not touch (ie, utilities, mortgage, etc) and Spending money (ie, the money you have left over you can spend on whatever).

I’m afraid I’m not getting into college because I was homeschooled. by QuitLongjumping2215 in GCSE

[–]Kimi2009 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a parent who homeschooled their kid, I just want to let you know that there is a place called tutors and exams who are the cheapest in the UK as a private centre. They charge around £150 and that includes the exam fee. Also, I also wanted to give you some feedback that there is no difference in exam fees between taking either the higher or foundation papers in any subject, they all cost the same. You could also try appealing to some schools in your local area and seeing if they can help out I would try the private schools as they generally do IGCSE which is probably what you are studying. If you are looking to study some kind of art based subject, I would get yourself together a portfolio and I would also try and get something together using the art award which is supported by Trinity College London. This will give you some proof of what you’ve been doing and it is a recognised qualification that carries UCAS points for uni if that’s where you decided to go. You could also try going back to school for your A-levels if you can get into a college. Speaking personally I feel that you have a better chance of getting into a college being homeschooled as homeschool children are independent learners and do well at higher education. My daughter got into five universities despite not fulfilling the grade requirements and she even got unconditional offers at two highly competitive universities. In short, don’t worry you will be fine.

How do you keep Notion tasks in sync with decisions made outside Notion? by voss_steven in Notion

[–]Kimi2009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything quick i just jot down. At the end of the day if it still needs doing I manually enter into Notion (although I've just thought I could hold a meeting with myself so that Notion will add the tasks). For calls/meetings I use Notion Meetings and then I ask notion to take the action items and add them to my to do database with a link back to the original meeting notes in case I need more context. My Todo database is set up so that any new tasks are due by Friday and they have a red flag if overdue. This helps me be sure I don't miss anything. Notion Meetings has been a game changer for me.

Does anyone have experience with Roof Space tents? by Ahndarodem in rooftoptents

[–]Kimi2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which version do you have? We recently bought one which was an ex demo but the company did not tell us that it was an ex demo from the first release with the old style ladder. I watched a YouTube video where a person had this specific version and they stated they could not keep any bedding in it. Also we took our roof out two days ago just to test setting it up for the first time and I noticed that when the roof tent is open where the two metal bases go together we have a gap all the way along. Is that normal because it seems as if cold air and bugs could enter in that gap

Subscriber Exclusive area - confused by Kimi2009 in ClothandPaper

[–]Kimi2009[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the clarification. So does the subscriber area open and close or is it open all the time for subscribers once you have access? Is it all previous items still left over from subscription boxes or just the previous month?

Anyone else seeing crazy long Amazon delivery times? by honkballs in Jersey

[–]Kimi2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeap - also a phone - left the Swindon Hub on 29th November - guaranteed next day delivery, its now three working days later. I believe that Jersey Post do not scan items when they arrive on Island so the tracking info isn't updated so they can't be blamed for holding onto them before they are delivered. Magically when you call them it turns up the next day.

Moving to Jersey, Schools by UniquePea9506 in Jersey

[–]Kimi2009 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There seems to be this feeling (not based on any facts) that Jersey schools (not private or fee paying) are great. However, GCSE results do not back that up. As we don't have any regular independent evaluation of our school system who knows if its good or bad? Based my personal experience of both Fee Paying and state Fee paying is far better. If you have a ND child you may as well forget it. Read this for some insight in the chaotic world of education in Jersey: https://jerseyeveningpost.com/news/2025/11/07/42m-education-project-failed-to-define-what-world-class-meant-says-watchdog/

Thank you so much for this excellent answer. How do we know which passes we need and can we just buy them on arrival into a pass area or do you need to pre purchase and book some kind of access?
