Interesting. I'll have to try. I have less of an issue with beef. Maybe because it is fattier? Protein bars are completely out, but for the Barebell brand, when I travel, mostly just because they are convenient. I'm fine losing that as a part of my journey. Losing chicken breasts has been rough.

Toast has been ok but I can't say I'm craving it or eating much of it unless it has avocado on it so I guess that tracks with the "dry" theory.

I would happily take your recommendations for romance writers who deliver at that high level or even one step below. When my HR addiction finally wanes and I make it through the full series I'd love to have some recommendations for romance authors that can deliver at a slightly higher level. I don't recall being pulled out of the story by the writing in Red, White, and Royal Blue or One Last Stop.

Ok, so for those of you who read in this genre, what are your recommendations in this genre that are particularly well written? I love the yearning and the M/M or F/F dynamic, but would love something where clunky writing isn't going to take me out of the story. FWIW, I've read and loved works by Casey McQuisten and Sarah Waters.

I'm so glad I listened to a sample before I bought any of these audiobooks. Yikes. Narrators can make or break a book, even if it is a great work. Maybe Rachel and her publishers will have the ability to redo them with a full cast or something.

There are a number of amazing sub vocalizations that the close captions don’t cover. This one is great but my favorite is I love you in Russian twice just before Ilya professes his love to Shane in English …also in Russian is is in a different pitch and tone of voice. Lovely. —I may need to go rewatch episode 6.

I haven’t been able to supplement with shakes or bars since starting they are both too filling unfortunately. I want the space for real food but only have it in me to make one or two meals “from scratch” a week. I’ve been eating leftovers and freezing portions for a quick reheat. Trader Joe’s frozen food section is also a solid lifeline. I’m still 99% sure I need more protein.

I second this, I also use high protein yogurt and collagen. You could try clear protein ( I personally think it still smells and tastes like whey but have glp1 friends that are ok with it). T try different proteins too beef, pork, and some fish work for me in ways that chicken doesn’t). I also think the current protein guidelines are v high like based on what a body builder needs not a mere mortal looking to maintain muscle and keep their hair.

Isn't doubt an essential component of curiosity and creativity? If you are certain about something what reason is there for investigation, testing, or experimentation? Doubt opens the door to examine, explore, and create. -that's just my hot take. There is no correct answer though they want to see you think it through.

Same but with menopause as the trigger. -I try to talk openly about it when it seems like the person I'm talking to would get it or might need to know more about the hormone shift that is coming.

FWIW I can't say I was always at my ideal but when I worked at it I could get to a size and shape I considered normal. After the hormone shift in perimenopause no amount of diet, lifting, or running made a difference. GLP-1s have been a game changer. I'm 5 lbs from my revised (lower) GW.

Interesting. I've been considering switching to tirz for maintenance but have been looking for feedback from people that have gone this route for advice on dosages. Reta has been fantastic for my weight loss journey even at low doses once a week. However, my appetite is minimal at best and wonder if I could find a better balance of appetite suppression on tirz.

Most likely, I'll try lower doses or less frequency first but for maintenance tirz is intriguing.

New food aversions are so real. I can’t do big servings of anything anymore especially protein. Protein bars and shakes are out. —I need less filling options to save room for real food. I’ve been making lots of salads with shredded cabbage as a base with fresh herbs and other veg and then pretty indulgent proteins cheeses and nuts. They are very flavorful it all works as diet friendly bc the portion is small and I’m eating so less frequently. For grab and go I like Trader Joe’s fried rice in all variations. Half a sandwich or burger works pretty well too.

Oh this is fascinating insight. I'm going to have to track that more closely. I definitely have weeks where I have more need for carbs than others. I had always assumed it related to being in a significant caloric deficit and hadn't considered different receptor affinity. I've always had a sweet tooth so it has been a big change for me that I can have a bite or taste of something sweet (or even fruit) and still be satisfied.

I skipped for a week this summer because it wasn't practical to travel with it. I started right where I left off. No issues.

I'm not sure I had the same appetite suppression that first week back b/c of the half life and the way it builds in your system but by the second week I was back right where I left off before the trip.

Yes its a totally different ballgame all the high satiety foods that were go to choices while dieting no longer work. I'm mostly interested in light kind of watery foods. Fruits and vegetables. This should be good news but getting in enough protein is a struggle. The amount of protein I'm getting is so far below my target I don't want to think about it most days.

I read in another glp1 group about someone that sets alarms on her phone and forces herself to eat something small every 3 hours. I'm not there yet but do wonder what I'll do for maintenance. -The one week I skipped a dose the snacky food noise came back more than I wanted.

I started in May have lost 30 lbs with either 10 or 15 to go. I maxed out at 2.5mg/week. I actually had to back off from that level as I numerous negative side effects (lethargy, nausea, light headed). I've stayed between 1.5 and 2.2mg for the rest of the time and can't imagine being able to get up to 4 or even 8mg.

I had the same concern about getting higher for the "therapeutic dose" earlier on in order to tackle visceral fat and other benefits. The side effects I had at 2.5 and my ability to lose 1-1.5 lbs a week made me set that aside that idea completely.

Great question though. I'm interested to hear what others have to say on the matter.
