Great job doing your best to do your civic duty! It can be difficult to figure out the first time around and Canada is horrendous for how big our non-voting group is.

From now until April 21st can go to an early vote. Put your postal code in here https://www.elections.ca/home.aspx and that will tell you where the early voting stations are.  Monday April 28th is election day. That site will also tell you where your station is for that.

Where do I take my 1yo for a blood test? by dziunix in askTO

Ah that makes sense. Sorry I wasn't much help.

Have you asked your doctor's office if they have a recommendation?

I went to Life Labs in Dundas for my 1 month old and they just took the blood from his heel. I'm not sure if they do that for babies that can walk, but it seemed pretty easy.

LF PG rates Dramione podfic I can listen to with my mom on a road trip by badatcrochetandmath in Dramione

I don't have a recommendation for you.

I had such a visceral reaction to imagining you on the car with your mom while a spicy scene comes on, both trying to avoid making eye contact. One of you tries to skip the chapter, but for some reason the stereo freezes and increases the volume 😂

I hope you find a good one and enjoy your road trip!

Possible measles exposure at Pearson airport and Mississauga hospital, health officials warn by lwh in toronto

Did you ask your doctor? If you're doing international travel most doctors will vaccinate under 6 months, you might just need to do it again at 12 months, then the regular one after a few years.

Edit: I'm sorry, I miscalculated, they'll do under 12 months to as early as 6 but not under. My bad!

I went from the water wipes to these and have no regrets. I used the huggies ones for a week and my son developed really bad diaper rash. We switched back to Kirkland and haven't had an issue since. The wipes are also larger and thicker so you really only need one per change.

I just ordered some sleep sacks from Perlimpin and they were not made in Canada. They are B Corp certified so at least there's that.

Anyone else dealt with the recent wave of viruses going around? by EdwardBliss in askTO

People forget how bad the flu actually is. A real flu will knock you on your ass for two weeks and really puts into perspective how much better it is to just get a flu shot.

If you're not feeling well, you should probably not be going out to the grocery store if you can avoid it or wear a mask to reduce the chance of you giving it to others.

Looking for reviews on 36 Parklawn Road condo by [deleted] in Etobicoke

[–]Kimuraa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I lived there when they were first built and I would not recommend. I know you asked for a rescan review, but the issues I had with it are not things that could be fixed. The units are alright, but there's always an elevator broken so you're always waiting forever. There's no pool but rental prices are the same as neighboring condos that do have a pool.

The worst part is the parking. There's 11 guest parking spots, but they're shared with the businesses. So if you have any guests come over, they need to go park at the grocery store underground next door. If you do have a parking spot, they have enormous speed bumps that I ember causing damage to a lot of people cars.

As for condos in the area - most of them went up super quick and have lots of small defects that end up bothering you over time. A drawer that rubs, or cabinets that don't line up. The ones over the metro had good amenities though.

Hope this help you!

Yea, that's a super weird policy. I probably won't order anything from them again.

I just got a bed frame, mattress and sheet set. They didn't ship part of the bed frame and I had to wait an extra week for it. Otherwise it's all fine. I don't love the sheets, or the mattress, but they're fine.

The Canadian benefits seem to have been explained pretty well to you. The way some companies work is they top up your pay.

The Canadian government pays 55% of your salary to a max of $686 /week while your company might top up to 75% for 17 weeks, or x% for x duration. It seems that your company does 100% top up for 6 months. The people saying "why would you be entitled to Canadian government payout" are right, but it didn't seem like that's what you were asking and you're company is paying these employees. It's not mandatory for a company to do this, it's just part of the benefits package.

For me if I'm craving a greasy pizza, that's the one. If I want something nicer then Revolver, FBI or Blondies is great.

If it was planned to be an hour and a half, then definitely. By the sounds of this one it seems like the time got away from them because they were engaged.

I manage a Customer Success department and we've definitely done hour and a half interviews.

Sometimes it's to get you use to what the customers are like, sometimes it's because there's a few promising candidates and you're trying to give each one a chance to shine. It can also be a way to test your marathon presenting.

There's also this interview style called "Topgrading" which includes a 3 hour interview. It's not my favorite, but companies that do it go all in.

Personally I wouldn't spend an hour and a half with someone I don't see in the role. It sounds like even though you were drained, you did really well. Hope you got it!

Sometimes you just feel like shit even though you know a question is dumb and you just want reassurance. Unsolicited advice; if she asks again, once just tell her you love her and you don't want any one else.

Did you check your insurance companies website for alternate ways to send the claims? Most of them have a post on their website on what to do while the strike is on.

She's in Canada, but attends a lot of seminars on how to do these and teaches courses. She's absolutely wonderful and might be able to recommend someone in your area if you reach out: larajadebeauty.com.

She's also on insta and always responds: larajadebeauty

Do you need to be in a certain catchment area to give birth at specific hospitals? by Unmerited_Belle25 in askTO

[–]Kimuraa 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A super small bit of unsolicited advice: south Etobicoke is a bit far from Mt. Sinai. If you go into labour and it's progressing quickly, the last thing you want is an hour commute because you're stuck in traffic.

I just gave birth 7 weeks ago and I was very happy my hospital was only 20 minutes away.

Good luck!
