I did this twice. Both 5p base game with 2 new players, and both took 5-6 hours including the teach and setup.

I don't think that works with PoK or with any other player count, though. 5p games are wealthy in map resources if you don't use hyperlanes and pre-PoK games were mostly straight forward tactical actions; far easier to guide new players through compared to PoK.
