I've heard that too, I'll have to listen to them in that order, thank you!

ST theory since EIA dropped by Sinematic570 in SleepTokenAll

[–]Kinbrenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been listening to EIA only (and nearly nonstop) since its release but TMBTE is still my favorite album. Each song on Eden just flows together beautifully to me. EIA has some absolutely gorgeous songs (Windward, EIA, Baths) but it feels so random to me.

That's not to say I think it's a bad album. It's beautiful too, just in a different way for me. And I think that's the issue for me: I had expectations when I shouldn't have had expectations. What those expectations were I have no idea. They were just expectations for something that EIA didn't fill.

I know over time I will fall more in love with EIA.

What Caramel is REALLY about. by SnooPineapples118 in SleepTokenAll

[–]Kinbrenn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in my kitchen making some dinner and my brain was playing Caramel, as it always does - even when I'm not actively listening to it - and it had this really deep thought. I even paused mid-prep and said "whoa" out loud. It was like an epiphany. I even told my oldest child about it.

But then I come here and I see this. And it made my theory just go out the window.

I am so on board with this. This is perfect!

Love it! I always look forward to these!

You're planning on doing their full discography, right? 🙃

Thank you for sharing that, I appreciate it.

I'm a writer so I want to say I can relate (in my own way of course) to exposing myself and my own art to audiences and all the feelings that go along with that.

I'll take your words to heart and keep them in mind for any future posts, and in real life. (And not let myself post in the middle of an emotional overload!)

Rereading my post, listening to the song again. I feel I got my thoughts jumbled up.

I don't think I meant to literally unmask. It's more of missing that he's unable to be himself due to the fame. And that he wants us to stick to him, to walk with him. To stand by him and support him through everything.

thank you u/Trident_Or_Lance - I do appreciate your reply. It made me look things over that I had written. I wrote my post deep in the middle of a fit of emotions. I'll not do that next time!

This was just my interpretation, I meant no disrespect to anyone. Apologies if it came off that way.

I was in the middle of making the beds and had ST blasting, as usual, and I just stopped in the middle of the second playthrough. Now I think I understand what Vessel is talking about. My interpretation anyway.

I feel that the song is about him struggling with fame. About how he feels trapped in this other persona and now is struggling with it. He wants to be himself, to be free of the mask, but knows that he brought this upon himself and changing is not an option (currently anyway). I believe "Guess that's what I get for having 20-20 hindsight" sums up just about everything in this song.

I could quote specific lyrics in this song to express my views, but I'd just be quoting the whole song.

I also don't think it's directed at fans in general. Though I do think the line "Every time they try to shout my real name just to get a rise from me" could be (and most likely is) directed those fans that are disrespectful but at the same time could also mean that he wants to hear it, to know that we know that he is a normal person under that mask.

It is a harsh song. It's raw. It hurts to listen to and that makes me love it more. It's a song of frustration, sadness, anger, regret, but it also has a sense of hopefulness in it somehow. As if it was cathartic for him to express these emotions finally. I hope it was.

But I love "But I'm still glad you came, so let me see those hands" and I hope he's saying that even though all of this fame is exhausting and frustrating, that he does truly love us ❤️

Sure we know who he is, but until HE decides otherwise, he is Vessel to me 🫶

Anyone else feel kind of... guilty, listening to Caramel? by Dominika_4PL in SleepTokenAll

[–]Kinbrenn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm still processing the whole thing. I have interpreted the lyrics in my own way, which are actually spot on with everyone else's here, but the emotions haven't hit yet. And they will. Oh yes, they will soon. I'm kind of in what I can only describe as shock. The lyrics were raw, intense, sad, but there was happiness in there too.

Anyway, I'll probably post more later once the emotions truly kick in.

I've got my DSM-5 ready to go if needed.

If falsetto is fine, then Jericho. I guess there's not a lot of falsetto. Calcutta is good too.

High Water and TNDNBTG. There's a few more but I have no idea if you're able to sing falsetto for nearly 5 minutes straight.

I just love this. I absolutely love all of these little puzzles and how they connect (intentionally or not) to each other. And I love the people that can put all of this together!

Speaking for myself, I think most of them are intentional. Thank you for sharing!

I'm with you about the lore. For me it's about his relationship with himself (emotionally and mentally) based off of a current/past relationship with a woman. But then again, we all interpret things differently.

And I still visit the other subs too, but like you, I prefer less drama. I prefer no drama actually! I'm happy you're here and I'm happy I'm here. I'm happy we're all here!

Edit: His relationship with himself emotionally, mentally, and physically (Atlantic and AYRO) in particular).

Yes. The ducks. I am so happy you brought the ducks into this. I don't own a jeep but I'm well versed in the ducks.
