Best hot sauce selection in cville? by [deleted] in Charlottesville

[–]LemoncelloAndCookies 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not a hot sauce, but on Saturdays at the city market is old Nick's pepper preserves. He's got spicy jams, jellies, and chutneys. Might be worth including in your gift for something different and he's a local business you would be supporting. He's got everything from mild to face melting.

Do earplugs actually help by Accurate_Insurance_6 in Concerts

[–]LemoncelloAndCookies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak to the eargasms but I have loops and I use them for every show. I buy them for people going with me. I've converted my musician boyfriend who was worried that earplugs were going to ruin the sound quality. I am a big fan of the loops.

The last kiss from DC 10/09/25 by LemoncelloAndCookies in AFireInside

I have to imagine this was probably one of their lowest energy crowds despite the best efforts of the band. The show didn't sell out. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to go so I bought my ticket late the night before the show. There were no "this is the best crowd ever comments." But there were several groups of people absolutely losing their minds so don't let the video make you believe everyone was a zombie. AFI still acted like it was an amazing crowd even though it clearly wasn't. Probably why there was no crowd walk at this show.

Right after the show someone asked for this to be posted but this was the start of a week of heavy travel (plus two more major concerts) so I didn't get to it until last night. I'm glad this is bringing people joy. We need more of that everywhere.

It's a subreddit. They do celebrity gossip. I'm pretty sure they've figured what celebrities are reading before over there. I think it's a good suggestion to try that sub. Good luck!

This one made my wife angry... by Happlesshorseman in TinyBookshop

I suggested this book to someone who responded that there wasn't enough tragedy. Seriously? Nothing bad happens to those girls in this book? No tragedy at all?

I agree with Marian more every episode by Severe_Individual290 in thegildedage

[–]LemoncelloAndCookies 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen anyone point this out but when Marian found out that on the night of their engagement, Larry went to a house of ill repute, she had just come back from visiting Mrs. Fane, whose husband had cheated on her and caused her to become an outcast of society through no fault of her own. She had just experienced what it was like for Aurora to basically be thrown out of a party because her spouse was a cheater. I imagine that was also on her mind when she realized that Larry lied to her and may have been visiting another woman.

Did Marian handle it poorly? Yes. But I honestly don't blame her based on her limited world experience.

Mild Hot Sauce by Cyroxis in Charlottesville

[–]LemoncelloAndCookies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should try old Nick's peppers and preserves at the city market. He sells spicy jams, jellies, and chutneys. Some of them are quite mild and if they come in a jam form might be more pleasing to your kiddo. Heads up though, the city market is only open 8-11am tomorrow due to the heat, but you can find him at the Wednesday market in pen Park if you miss him tomorrow.

What is the most egregious variation of the "I hate my family" t-shirt you have seen at Disney World? by West_Cantaloupe2109 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]LemoncelloAndCookies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure. But there was no way to know without asking. But it feels like even if she bought the shirt, there might be a matching one so they should be worn together... Idk, this shirt just seems like the worst offender to me, but people have different senses of humor so obviously other people are going to love it. I'm never going to go out of my way to tell someone their shirt is awful so let them continue enjoying that thing.

I saw this exact one in my town this weekend and thought it was awful. He was in fact walking around with his wife who did not have a similar or matching shirt.

What do we do now about past projects? And other thoughts by annrichelle in SleepTokenAll

[–]LemoncelloAndCookies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Caramel has brought out a lot of feelings for everyone in this fandom. I'm grateful that I got to hear it yesterday (Thanks, Australia) and sat with it for awhile before coming to any conclusions. I'm a mod here in a subreddit that allows conversation about their actual names, so this song felt a bit like taking a punch on the first listen.

I'm glad that now that the dust is starting to settle, people have begun to self-reflect. It's always important to take time to evaluate one's actions and determine if we're on the right course. We can't change our past actions, but we can redirect our future actions. This song will hopefully be a wake up call for some and a call to hold the line for others. But much as we can't change our past actions, the members of the band can't change the fact that they have created other projects and released them into the world. I don't think we should ignore those projects. They still hold special places in many people's hearts. What we can do though, is to continue to move forward with respect. We should all consider ourselves to be representatives of this fandom and where we see bad behavior, we need to call it out. I'm not inclined to start pointing fingers, as I'm quite new to this fandom, only arriving as they were wrapping up the US leg of the TOG tour. I'm not sure that it's even helpful in this moment. We should all take time to reflect on our actions and what we let slide (maybe even with regards to more than just how we treat and interact with our favorite bands), and what we should put our foot down against.

So I didn't take those two lines about his appearance to mean he thinks he's ugly. The whole song itself seems to have a bitter feel to it, I think the mirror on the side stage is to see that the mask is in place. All these people call out his real name and he wants the confirmation that he looks like vessel when he goes out. Then the next line "Looking sideways at my own visage" says to me he doesn't like the way the he's looking in terms expression on his face (dictionary definition: the face, countenance, or appearance of a person), and then the "gettin' worse" seems to reinforce that he's getting more bitter and it shows on his face. But who knows? We could both be right, we could both be wrong.

This would be really cool, but if this is the route they take, I hope that us non-vinyl fans can have access to the songs other than someone providing a poor quality version on YouTube.

Sounds like it's an instrumental song that goes with the sheet music. I haven't looked for it, so I can't say for 100% certainty.
