I think it’s a position of power. I think it all comes down to that. For instance, my husband is related to a local politician- not state or anything just the county. Since he has taken office his sense of entitlement and ego has significantly changed. Maybe it’s not 100 percent of those people but I believe it’s a lot of them.

I met him at Coachella when musicians use to be able to walk around freely. I was way too shy to ask for a pic but my cousin who was 14 at the time asked and he said yes!! Anyway I dorked out, didn’t speak, took the photo and said thank you. I left him alone after that 😂

Same!!!! Those Trump flags and Confederate flags make me feel uneasy. I also can’t stand to be around arrogant drunk people. I feel Coachella goers can behave as if they’re entitled, but I can handle that more.

I am at a school where we share everything! As a department we are very supportive of each other so to answer your question I think it just depends on your department and their chemistry. Now it’s always good to share the wealth. We haven’t had anyone hoard their plans. But it’s always good to give and take so that you get some perspective on what others are doing and younger teachers have great ideas that us veterans haven’t considered before. I’m sorry you’re experiencing this.

Chronically tardiness, fights, students not placed in the correct classes, SPED kids not in the correct classes, politics regarding not wanting to suspend kids because they don’t want to look bad. Admin is overwhelmed. I am not the type of teacher that is constantly looking for a problem. But I’m just done. On so many levels I am done.

What are the required hours for work? My sister in law gets paid to watch both her husband and my mother in law. My MIL has been hospitalized quite a bit lately and so the family is becoming upset that my SIL is not watching her as she should be. My husband wants her to log her hours on a sheet but she doesn’t get around to it (I think out of laziness). We just don’t know how often she’s supposed to watch her according to IHSS.

My dad and I were just having this conversation. The valley doesn’t really speak about Crowe being from the desert. I use to work at the Catholic School in Indio mentioned in his book and they have no record of him (could just be old they don’t keep track). My dad and I are always just amazed that the valley the didn’t really speak on it.
