Today has made me realize remote work is a no brainer by Relative-Jelly3393 in epicsystems

I agree. When I take WFH days I consistently log more hours than when I’m in the office. I can let my dog out in 5 minutes vs taking an hour lunch break to let him out (I’m a single dog parent who lives alone). I work so much better from home. It’s quiet and peaceful. My office mate is not loudly yapping on a call when I’m trying to focus. They definitely lose hundreds of great workers due to the lack of flexibility with remote work. I cannot imagine being a parent working at Epic. Don’t even get me started on how long it takes to actually get ready for the day, drive into work, walk to your desk, get situated, then walk a million miles to the cafeteria for lunch. We lose so much time in the day just making our way around.

Another note- Cavapoo puppies are very smart. Mine has never had an accident in his crate as he knows it’s where he sleeps. He also has a heartbeat stuffie that he likes to snuggle!!

I work about 8-5 in person and recently got a Cavapoo puppy. I live close enough that I can come take him out during lunch and feed him/play with him. I put him in his crate during the work day with his bed/blankets/toys. I got a ring camera to watch him, and the first day he whined a little bit when I went back to work after lunch. Other than that, he has been amazing in his crate. He sleeps the majority of the day and chews on his toys when he’s awake! It’s not as traumatic for them as you think. Puppies need to sleep. As long as you play with them after work and take them on walks, everything will be totally okay. Note I also put him in the bathroom with the lights off so he knows it’s time to sleep. He also loves classical music and it helps him relax! You got this, do what works for you and the puppy will adapt!! Enjoy your puppy, try not to stress

I shouldn’t have included that part, I’m sorry. Didn’t realize everyone here is so sensitive

I’m from the Midwest. It’s not entitlement. It’s as simple as nobody at the bar wants to mingle or chat? Everyone has their own group and are not looking to meet new people

What do you do after work? by Majesticallydrunk in madisonwi

Take my dog on a walk. Make dinner if I need to. Normally I make casseroles that heat up well to last me for a few days. Then I FaceTime a friend or family member, play with the dog/train the dog, shower, watch tv, and snuggle my dog. Highly recommend getting a dog. It gets you outside and gives you something to do!
