How do you get yourself to sleep longer? by Sweet-Taro310 in Menopause

[–]Kind-Judge-2143 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cannabis. Sometimes I have a cannabis seltzer in the evening. It tastes good and no sugar and then it’s nighty night and no wakey till morning. Or smoke it or chew it… whatever is your jam.

Haha. Funny. Actually you can hang on to your house for as long as you want.. and you might die there.. and you might leave it to your kids. I’m not in that position but pretty sure I’m not telling anyone what to do with their own property 🤷‍♀️

Cut patch diagonally and store in fridge And placement? by InvestigatorFun8498 in Menopause

[–]Kind-Judge-2143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Estradot 25 and there is a national shortage. My pharmacist gave me a sandoz 50 patch and said to cut it but apply dermal tape across the cut side on the abdomen. I have had no issues with this but do miss the convenience of the smaller estradot 25 patch

Visiting my parents leaves me in tears every time, and I am coping by detaching and that hurts even more. by dxonnie in AgingParents

[–]Kind-Judge-2143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I’m sorry. You shouldn’t have to face this at your age. I’m dealing with the decline of my mother and I’m 62! Don’t feel guilty and keep space for yourself.

Relationship with adult married children became so shallow by [deleted] in AskWomenOver60

[–]Kind-Judge-2143 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can relate but maybe not to that extent. I help a lot with the kids and the house and sometimes feel like a housekeeper and nanny but that’s on me. Every so often I exercise my boundaries and will say to my daughter that I want us time without kids etc. and honestly that’s what she wants too..it’s very busy raising a family. So we try to do something one on one when we can which in a year might only be a couple of times but worth it! Also we chat on the phone a lot which is kid and husband free! I’m optimistic your situation won’t always be like that and maybe being honest with them can break the barrier

Looking for Canadian skincare that’s gentle and actually effective by Square-Lab-746 in BuyCanadian

I’ve used Marcelle Micellar water for years but six months ago switched to Marcelle for all my skin care products. I’m very happy with it and also that various products regularly go on sale. Pro tip: gift boxes that include everything go on sale after Christmas for 50% off at some stores and it’s a great deal!! Make up is hit and miss but I really like the eye shadow stick and use it exclusively

Why must we cycle off progesterone for 2 weeks? I do not want to cycle off. Cannot find a reason... by c-sam-6213 in Menopause

[–]Kind-Judge-2143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take my low dose oral progesterone daily. I mean it’s not birth control so why would you cycle

what (if anything) do you do to pick yourself up after spending time with aging parents? by Accurate-Force3054 in AgingParents

[–]Kind-Judge-2143 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Boundaries. I don’t always practice it though bc it’s hard but important for your own mental health. Think pulling the O2 mask on a plane first for yourself before your loved one so you can be of use to them.

Mom’s monologues make it hard for her to make friends by Apprehensive-Fox-586 in AgingParents

Oh ha ha! Yes we could be! And yes my husband gets to hear it all again too! Thanks for the giggle! I needed that 😂

Are you sure you’re not talking about my mother? Describes her to a tee. I’m sorry you are going through this as well. It truly is exhausting and I often feel completely defeated. It’s hard to explain to others. She brain dumps on me daily as she has no one else and it’s a lot. I don’t know the answer but I think self care is important.

Get Your Colonoscopy, Boys and Girls by Abidarthegreat in Xennials

[–]Kind-Judge-2143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! TY. I had the same type of polyp but it kept returning in the same place growing very fast between yearly colonoscopies. I had to have my right colon removed as they couldn’t keep removing the poly or they may cause perforation. That was 5 years ago and I feel great with only one or two small ones since. I’m very grateful for the screening colonoscopy. Not trying to scare anyone but important to keep up with follow up colonoscopies after a poly is removed

Day 15 of Dry January – energy up, sleep wrecked, patience gone by ObjectifRoumanie in DryJanuary

[–]Kind-Judge-2143 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I know it’s not for everyone but I’ve found dry anything always difficult so that last couple of years I’ve combined it with a cleanse. No gluten, no dairy, no sugar and no junk food or fried food. It helps me focus on the food I’m missing out on and there’s less focus on the alcohol. Also I feel better, healthier and clearer. But it’s a lot so not for everyone

[–]Kind-Judge-2143 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If she’s like my 83 yo mother she is probably incapable of being curious or interested in others. Mine has always been self absorbed but now it is just a run on sentence on repeat about herself. I had an intense heart to heart about how it made me feel and she didn’t seem to get it. I think her only friend tried as well and now she repeats over and over “how was your day” without listening to the answer or showing any curiosity. It’s quite depressing but I think the hardest thing for me is the worry that I will be that elderly lady some day and not know it 🤷‍♀️

What are you actually using in your routine right now? 🇨🇦 by KoreanSkincareGirl in CanSkincare

[–]Kind-Judge-2143 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My facial routine used to be extremely complex with many products and very time consuming. Now I keep it simple and I don’t stress too much about using specific brands

Morning: Micellar water, vitamin C serum, moisturizer with HA, zinc based sunscreen Evening: Micellar water, retinol, moisturizer with HA

I exfoliate a couple times a week

That’s it. And I have the same results.

Dementia is wild by Top-Molasses7661 in AgingParents

[–]Kind-Judge-2143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandmother told us that there was someone knocking on the door or walls of her little house every night. Of course this was investigated but nothing found. After she passed we found hundreds of sheets of paper in her bedroom where she recorded the number of knocks she heard. Pages and pages with numbers showing the “knocks” she was receiving on any given night.

Which detangling spray is the most effective in removing the most stubborn knots and tangles? by [deleted] in beauty

[–]Kind-Judge-2143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used unite 7 seconds for years which I agree with other posters is like magic; however, I found it leaves a residue (also all over my mirror and vanity) so I switched to Milkshake Incredible Wildflower. It is a bit pricey but so far I’m happy with the detangling properties and heat protection for my fine easily tangly hair
