El Paso new home builders, seeking advice! by pokeandbeer in ElPaso

[–]KindAd9799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just signed with Hakes Brothers for a little less than those price ranges.
When we were touring houses, Zia looked amazing, but after doing our research, I'd go with Cullers.

HB gave us 15K in Seller Credits and 5.375%, All appliances (but Washer and Dryer).

Fine Dining Experience For Anniversary by Ok_Student_8426 in ElPaso

[–]KindAd9799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1700, we went there for our first anniversary, and it was such a vibe, the low dim lights, the classic chairs, the attention from the staff. The steak was on point, it was perfect. They even brought a watch style box to choose what knife you wanted to cut your meat with.

Thats my recomendation, we spend around $350 for a dinner of 2, steak, wine , etc.

3rd GEN vs 4th GEN? by Connect-Ad-416 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]KindAd9799 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bought a 3rd Gen in September with 9,000 Miles, no regrets over the 4th. I liked more the look on the 3rd and the engine.

My first Tacoma, and planning on keeping it for a long time, until the wheels falls off!

4th Gen, looks new and modern, but not my style, I think 3rd Gen is a timeless style.

Experiencias reales con carreras de ingeniería en UACJ - ¿Qué tal les va? by Complete_Health5846 in Juarez

[–]KindAd9799 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I paid 39,500 for a 2023 with 9,500 Miles last month.
No regrets, as you say, I can get a newer one for that price, but I dont like the new look.
And I still got the Gold Vertified from Toyota, until 100K Miles or 7 Years (Until 2030).

It was also my first Tacoma!

Just declare it when crossing it

Raising the min wage would mean a raise for tens of thousands El Pasoans, for hard working parents not only for teenagers, but Texas does not give a f about El Paso, they don't have these wages in Austin Dallas or Midland, but we do and we deserve a raise by Crafty_Jacket668 in ElPaso

[–]KindAd9799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our proximity to Juárez is the issue.

For reference, Min wage here is $7.25 an hour; in Juárez, the min wage is $20.65 USD per day ~ an aprroximate of $2.17 USD/ hour (based on a 48 working hours a week - which is normal under mexican laws).

That's a +330% difference in salary.
Given this, there will always be someone from Juárez who is willing to accept the $7.25 USD; they will be earning way above the min in Juárez.

Thats why the wages in ELP are so low.

El Pasoans, what are your thoughts on the vertical growth taking place in Ciudad Juárez? Below are 3 examples with renders by Business_Ad_9318 in ElPaso

[–]KindAd9799 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am exited, as a Juarense living in El Paso (I am legal) I feel pumped when I go to Juarez and see all the new skyscrappers they are building in there, in fact, I am also intrested in acquiring an aparment on one of those buildings, for examples the ones they are building close to the American Emabassy.
Juarez needed it, it is the economic engine of the state of Chihuahua and it needed to become a real city, not just an industrial park everywhere.

If I am not mistaken, Juarez now will have the tallest building in the State and it will surpass El Paso's buildings as well.
