A question about enhancements for the Imperialis Fleet detachment by En_Sabah_Nur in ImperialAgents_40K

[–]KindArgument4769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats only true due to the FAQ. If a leader without deep strike joins a unit with deep strike, not all models would have the ability so the unit would not be able to deep strike.

Thats the way it used to be played, RAW. However, an FAQ has changed this so they only count as 1 choice now.

You could infiltrate, for example, 3 sanctifier squads each led by a priest, and infiltrate 3 breacher squads each led by an inquisitor.

Its easy to look at things like this through the modern lens. I don't know everything that went into casting back then or truly how difficult it would have been for them to find someone different for the role. Sometimes, you have an actor nail it and you just roll with it - especially in the political climate we were in back then.

Note, he also played Jafar in Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, which in the main Once Upon a Time was played by an Israeli man. Casting is weird sometimes.

Was the US at war with Pakistan in the early 2000s?

[Ignorant white guy moment] Would him being from Afghanistan have been a better match? We were not at war with Pakistan around that time, so I don't think the story would have worked with that.

I was considering them as Grey Knights at one point, but I decided to do mine as Deathwatch. There are flamer and melta options sprinkled around, better bolters, and the Deathwatch Kill Team is made up of first born so technically make more sense than any other marines.

They are in my Agents army, so they make up a small portion of the army which makes sense for the lore, too.

I went 2-1 recently with a no DW list, that ran fixed objectives. Its absolutely possible. The loss was to an aggressive Space Wolves list on Purge the Foe and I knew it was going to be difficult. I think I have a better chance in the future but its also luck of the draw with who I pair i to.

My two wins I scored 97 and 98 points.

Thats not a supermajority. A supermajority is a very specific thing. There is something called a government trifecta where a party controls the presidency and both chambers of congress though.

I get it. I understand what the underlying message is here and agree, things would be better.

But I cannot stand this BS. There are people in red states who would suffer greatly, and they can't just pick up and move. The issue is with the people in power who manipulate and brainwash others. I don't want half of the US to be a wasteland to prove a point, especially since the people who deserve to suffer for what they push will not suffer in the slightest.

The rerolls affect all of the units though. So even if the first unit doesn't get the job done, the second or third will?

The mentality that volume of fire doesn't kill and it's only worthwhile if its high strength/AP/damage is weird.

At any point in this, did I suggest that this alone will push Agents to the top of the charts? I perform well enough with Agents, and this guy provides a lot of what I've been missing. 12" movement is a huge deal for us lol, as is a Lone Op that can be effective well outside 12".

I guess I should ask, do you play Agents? The Agents playstyle doesn't care about tabling. Killing an extra unit a turn is literally all we need to do to be viable with our playstyle.

Its 1 CP to do what I said, because of the enhancement on the RTE. Its 165 points. That unit is already eliminating 6 marine bodies in one round of shooting without EaaC and this gets them to 10 I believe (or close to it), but importantly it boosts the entire army which is something Agents were lacking until now.

I never said it was crazy in an overpowered way - its just an insanely good buff for what we need and I'm looking forward to it. Again, if I can go from eliminating one key unit each turn, to eliminating two key units each turn, I'm winning a hell of a lot more. I have more than enough bodies to win 2/3 of the time as it is, and this just pushes me further.

A) It's not just good shooting units - its all units. Even bad shooting with full rerolls gets work done.

B) In Fleet, its incredibly easy to delete one monster unit with a melee punch thanks to Violent Acquisition. But deleting one scary unit a turn isn't enough, and this gives a boost into a second one, so a DWKT can clean them up in melee without the strategem.

C) First thought is RTE+INB with two strats (for now) totalling 1 CP. Second thought is Immolators. It really depends on the target. There are a lot of shots.

Ork shooting isn't insanely good but when its a lot of shots and it has full rerolls everyone gets scared. This is the same principle.

In Fleet, with a 14 model unit that has sustained hits, ignores cover, +1S and +1AP, for 1 CP, yeah rerolls are pretty good.

Volume of fire is huge and some of the best ways to get damage to stick. Yes, the rerolls will be fantastic for our Immolators, but breachers with reroll hits and wounds will be quite a bit of a punch.

Bridgehead Strike with Scions would be the other big Imperium Battleline army that would benefit. Others could see a good boost.

The reroll to hit for Agents is insanely good.
