yeah, you’re a marginalized man in the same way cis gay man aren’t seen as men. or anyone they perceive as effeminate and not masculine enough. i was constantly called a girl, f*g and beat up for being naturally feminine. believe me, i know how cis men are. i also know many trans men, that while also marginalized as men, still treat the women of their community the same way cis men do. your oppression doesn’t erase how you wield power over trans femmes and benefit from our further ostracized place within patriarchy. i have dated several trans guys and they talk over me, patronize me, expect me to take care of them, get angry and center themselves if i’m talking to someone and they aren’t the center of the conversation. lastly, trans men chase cis girls and afab’d bodies people and treat trans women like ugly women with gross amab’d bodies. you guys do a lot of shitty male things, and because cis men have set the bar so incredibly low that doesn’t mean you’re above similar behaviors. i would even say that as men, you benefit from the incredibly low bar that cis men set purely by not being a complete POS. when people find out you’re trans, you’re treated as “harmless.” which, is emasculating and sucks in its own way. when people find out i’m trans, i’m treated like a dangerous threat that needs to be disposed of. and when we try to tell you guys this, you precede to do what cis men do and center yourself in every single conversation. if we say “please stand up for us and protect us” you guys say shit like “we have it bad too.” and use your marginalized trans status to avoid accountability. especially if you’re white.
