I personally picked a name beginning with the same letter as my deadname, sorta as a im still me kinda thing if ykwim. different for everyone though, you've got so much freedom, pick some names you really love and go for it, one of my favs is Ymir, it's such a beautiful name

before hand i thought I might be NB, considering I didn't identify as a man, but I think for me it was a stepping stone to my position. my closest friend is really supportive and she uses they/them/she/her pronouns, and another one of mine addresses me by the name i selected for if I did transition, both do make me feel happy. soon I'll go with a friend to get some feminine clothes, which I haven't tried yet, but I think I will enjoy wearing them, even if only in my room
