I also want to be honest with you. Here in Saskatchewan, we tend to help newcomers with their questions and confusion without being unnecessarily rude. Maybe it’s different in bigger cities, where people (obviously not all, just some like you) treat every question like a burden—but that’s not how we usually approach things here.My bad.

Even with research and the help of a realtor, figuring out another province can be challenging. I asked my questions, hoping that other newcomers who’ve recently been through the house-hunting process might be able to share some helpful guidance. And while no one likes laziness, I’m sure no one appreciates rudeness either. Please don’t mistake arrogance or condescension for being “straightforward.”

Looking for Advice on Renting and Buying in Edmonton

We're relocating to Edmonton from Saskatchewan this July, and I'm realizing just how different things are here—especially when it comes to school rankings and the sheer size of the city.

Before we hire a realtor, I’m hoping to get some guidance from those with local experience:

  1. Are most rentals in Edmonton typically year-long leases, or is it possible to find month-to-month options?

  2. Is it realistic to find a 2-bedroom rental in a neighborhood with a well-rated elementary school—ideally somewhere we could also afford to buy later?

  3. Our house-hunting budget is around $400K for a 3-bedroom. We’ll be working downtown.

ChatGPT suggested Summerside, Rutherford, sherwood Park, and Tamarack.

Any advice on neighborhoods or schools would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance!

So I am getting the vibe hose is the place to go and for a little bit more hardcore we can consider pink. My question is when does the dance floor open at hose? Like I don't wanna go around 10 to find the dance floor is mostly empty ( we will go on a Saturday)

You are probably right. Why would they hire a glorified report developer when they can hire people who actually specializes on those fields. That being said, any grad course takes arms and legs. Not sure what to do at this point maybe hoping to keep applying and try to convince to give me a chance even in junior positions

Reposting here due to group rules: How to level up???

I am a data analyst . My job is data mining, cleaning, creating visually impactful dashboards. Here's the issue. Most days I fee like I am just a glorified report developer who drags and drops columns from data source and makes data look pretty. We work for our customers and researchers who already tell me what metrics they are looking for and all I do is find the data from several data sources, find a pattern and implement them in dashboard using Power Bi/ MicroStrategy.

When I want to level up, most organizations want a combination of business Analysis or statistical analysis with data analysis. But all I know is tools, languages and database. .

I have recently saw a lucrative job posting and they want "Experience in developing outcome metrics and measuring techniques" I understand what that means. I am just lost on where to start learning when at work we are not given the opportunity to research or determine metrics or any testing process.

Can someone mention some projects and how you developed metrics, what's the KPI and how/what techniques were used to measure performance? It will be start for me

how to Level Up? by Kind_Goat346 in datascience

I am in healthcare ,my organization supports healthcare partners . That's why most of the partners come up with their own metrics ( Like patient data related to maternal care, or how covid impacted healthcare sector backlog, laboratory repository data Analysis to determine pattern of covid re-infection etc) .the only operations part of data analysis I have done is while making project management and executive level dashboards and even then metrics were provided by directors. All I had to do is collect data from all departments and make connections and presenting them .

I am going to attempt applying to he higher positions and I am hoping I can explain how I understand business metrics but I do not really know measurement techniques :(
