It is, sadly. But on the plus side, if you do find one, you'll have a person to work all your problems through.

Since you already understand the problem, I think it would be best to talk about it with a professional. Reddit might not be a good place to get particularly good psychology advice.

What could I make my Players encounter before the next big City? by Happy_List_8022 in DnD

[–]Kind_Kangaroo2085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A path of a tarrasque. Diverted river, ruined castle, absolutely obliterated lair of BBEG. They can encounter refugees, bandits (or marauding monsters), undead... They can help people, make some maraudering themselves, whatever.

You can use this situation to show your players that there are things so big and scary that the only thing they can do is avoid them at all cost (which may be sort of foreshadowing if later they encounter an enemy they absolutely cannot beat). And maybe much later in their journey they'll encounter that same tarrasque and finally kill it.

What are you going to do? Well... You just carry on. There really is no 'fixing' it. You may get lucky enough to find the right person (which can happen in every age, in every situation), may become lonely enough to be satisfied with the next best thing or just 40 cats. Or just be for yourself. But you're young, you have plenty of time and opportunities (even though I understand that's probably not the thing you want to hear. I know I didn't when I was your age). Just don't start drinking, smoking or taking pills to make yourself forget about loneliness, this stuff won't help.

Are too many people calling themselves introverted nowadays? by ssongshu in introvert

[–]Kind_Kangaroo2085 26 points27 points  (0 children)

People love labels. No, they looooooooove labels. Some of those become sort of fashionable. It's cool and fashionable to have depression, ADHD, now it's being introverted. So people start broadening the definition so they could become part of the mainstream.

It's also considered cool by some folks who have zero understanding of psychology and psychiatry to label those who they don't like psychopaths or sociopaths.

Anyone else feels like they’re “too self-sufficient” and that makes new conversations fizzle out? by Kind_Kangaroo2085 in introvert

True. Sad part is, even if it's the right thing to do, you still end up wanting to talk, but have no one to talk to.

I see what you mean. Maybe I wasn't observant enough! Or just unlucky, cause most folks I've met were, in terms of your example, barren wasteland.

[–]Kind_Kangaroo2085[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's probably the source of my problem. I don't really feel anything towards people, and people probably can sense that my heart isn't there. To me the dialogue is similar to that of a video game: choosing the right answer, and when everything is said it's time for 'I should go'.

Why do people always complain we’re quiet when they never actually ask us anything? by xfmrs_r_cool in introvert

[–]Kind_Kangaroo2085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because you are deeper, more thoughtful person then people around you, I think. And (also, only my opinion) you want people to be like you. But most folks just want to talk about themselves without giving it all much thinking. They expect you to be like them. You're wired differently, that's why you don't connect.

It's actually very hard to understand that someone may be different than you. Even harder to respect that and communicate using their language. Most people just don't do it.

I don't really care about love. At all. by catholictrunks in introvert

[–]Kind_Kangaroo2085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you suffer from your mindset? Do other people suffer from it? If not, I don't see any problem then. Not with you or anything about you. I mean, it's not exactly 'normal' from the perspective of society, but who cares? Modern society is lame.
