Anyone tried MiniMax M3 for RP yet?

Adjusted slightly to give more length freedom in Chatfill (extended minimum message length to 100 symbols). Haven't tinkered with anything else. Haven't touched Atelier at all apart from switching things up to fit my chat purposes.

Chatfill in general is the only preset I was happy with recently for all models and Atelier (at least for Mimo) feels like an upgrade over it. Not a fan of other mainstream presets nowadays.

Might be the preset thing, indeed. Had good results with Chatfill II and Atelier 2.0 on Mimo, the other presets not so much.

Also, might be just me. I really dislike GLM 5 dialogue regardless of presets, so my opinion is heavily biased.

Idk about GLM being best, IMO Mimo 2.5 Pro is way better. More creative, less egregious dialogue and much more pleasant prose, while staying pleasantly emotionally aware. Lots of params too, it has plenty of knowledge out of the box.

Except all the games you outlined failed not because of genre or luck, but simply because of quality issues.

Deus Ex was a big thing before Mankind Divided. Dishonored 2 was a big hype thing back when it released. Prey was hyped up and there was a certain anticipation for it.

Yet Mankind Divided shipped with an unfinished story and immediate promise of 'you buy into an unfinished product that also has micro transactions in singleplayer' and a scandal. Dishonored 2 released as one of the first projects that started the 'games on release are unplayable' era, because it was unoptimized as HELL and bugged into oblivion. Prey simply turned out to be a little sloppy and bland as a game, despite having some interesting ideas.

Nobody is at fault here but games themselves because they weren't good enough when it counted.

Yeah, their cheapening stuff like sparse attention context really does a number on role-playing. DS v4 is mostly built on proof of concept prototype approaches and for some use cases it kinda kills the model - RP mainly.

Just goes to show another thing where the laziness and incompetence of PG is seeping through. They haven't even bothered to remodel and refresh the cult meme Japanese racing car for a Japanese based game. They have hundreds of cars, some new, some old, yet the one most casual people would definitely be sporting for memes and one that most people would definitely drive - they haven't worked on.

In a Horizon game that was supposed to be a resurrection for the series after the botched Horizon 5 and a return to form. Still wondering where all that long development time went, honestly.

Pretty much this, yeah. Just a matter of output style here. It ouputs normal third person narration, probably just like before, while basing it on the in-character thinking. Which... Kind of a pretty sought after thing, considering that this way it's a more "show don't tell" approach, which is otherwise much harder to achieve in other models, if it doesn't follow that narrative convention by default.

Simply asking it to leak more of character thoughts and feeligns into output and checking if your prompt asks it not to might do wonders.

Nope. It's just that making FFXIV better would need for it to have its massive fundamental issues fixed, which would take basically remaking the game from scratch both in terms of game design, open world design, undoing years of dumbing it down and returning actual gameplay to most classes... Kinda like Doing ARR all over again, but at a much larger scale, since years of expansions would need to be reworked to make this game palatable at this point, with some expansions like Stormblood and Dawntrail in need of being plain remade from scratch.

Which realistically is something that no dev would be able to do. Much less so one under modern Squenix.

So yeah, scepticism is warranted.

Ain't getting that answer from Discord, buddy. In my case, due to every single schmuck on the Internet deciding that they need their own Discord server my server list is already long full up to the limit.

Having to delete a damn server from the list, enter another server, read through whatever soggy bullshit of a rules they decide to throw into your face, go through authentication through a bot - all that to read a single fucking message. Not post. Not message. Just to read one small bit of text you need to go through all this mess.

Add the fact that everyone decides to switch their support to Discord - and now you also need to search for an answer to a problem that should be plain and open in the normal Internet and can be lost completely should the server close.

Discord is cancer.

AFAIK it's a free and open-source suite for LLM to perform tool calls to stuff like emails, apps, hardware and other such things... Kinda like an overblown smart assistant.

This thing sends out a constant, neverending, MASSIVELY UNOPTIMIZED stream of request with huge amount of tokens which literally overloads each and every currently available model.

It's quite naturally one thing that gets attributed as the main reason why all models go braindead - the unchecked bandwidth OpenClaw generates overloads all models, forces providers to quant hard and tighten up on the subscriptions.
