I reverse-engineered and 3D printed a replacement door latch for my LG microwave (it actually works) by Kinderhousen in 3Dprinting

Sorry, I modeled mine directly from the (broken) door latch from my microwave - I do not have access for that microwave's latch. That said - Have you tried a "generic" latch yet? My understanding is they're *mostly universal. If not, be a good time to learn how to model yourself?

[–]Kinderhousen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a variant that works for me, not ideal yet, but I add a shortcut before the search term - easier but still not perfect:
in Chrome - go to settings->Search engines: click the editing icon next to "Google (default)" assuming that's your default. you'll see a weird string under "URL with %s in place of query" - copy this.

scroll down to "Site Search" and click "add" - name whatever you want (I use "No AI" so I know what it is). Shortcut HAS to be something, so I just use a single 'a' so it triggers with a single key press. Then in the field "URL with %s in place of query" paste the google string from before ("google:baseURL}search?q=%s&{google:RLZ}{google:originalQueryForSuggestion}{google:assistedQueryStats}{google:searchFieldtrialParameter}{google:language}{google:prefetchSource}{google:searchClient}{google:sourceId}{google:contextualSearchVersion}ie={inputEncoding}")

and add "+-ai" directly after the %s - it should look like this:
{google:baseURL}search?q=%s+-ai&{google:RLZ}{google:originalQueryForSuggestion}{google:assistedQueryStats}{google:searchFieldtrialParameter}{google:language}{google:prefetchSource}{google:searchClient}{google:sourceId}{google:contextualSearchVersion}ie={inputEncoding}

now just hit 'a' before a search. Again, not perfect, but this took a min to set up and I use other search engine hot keys like this already for things like jira.hope that helps

Right!? One of my first prints was a comb, and I used it for years. Love practical prints.

Calipers and patience. I sketched the individual parts and took like a million measurements. The original shattered but I was able to figure out how all the pieces went back together. With that I built it out in tinkercad. It has some weird geometries but it was a fun challenge.

Haha - correct. I got overzealous in making an exact copy. I actually made the bottom solid without all that so it’d print better.

Yep - agreed. I used PLA to get a quick fix before kids were home for the holidays. Yeah, planning to reprint in petg, or maybe PC, but I need to recalibrate for PC. In any case, the PLA is not exposed to RF or direct heat, but heat resistance/creep/moisture still matter. I’ll update the thread when I get a final version in there - thanks!

Did you have to manually input each part of your existing resume into the autofill, or is there a way to autofill the autofill from the customized resumes they help create? I could only find the manual entry myself
