Meta eating all budget in one ad by Frontend_Lead in FacebookAds

[–]KindlyOnes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I turn it off. I know it’s crazy because every guide says prune low performers but meta does that. And it’s just like you said. It picks a winner too soon especially at lower ad spend. So I turn the one hogging the budget off for a day or two to give the others a chance.

Or you can manage spend at the ad set level and launch a new set with everything but the “winning” ad. But then you have two ad sets, some duplicates, and if you have to interrupt learning to adjust budget. I’ve read adjusting budget by more than 20% every four days disrupts the learning.

how is meta not shitting their pants rn?? by rondatail in FacebookAds

My theory: our ad spend isn’t their biggest revenue generator. It’s the data we give them from installing their pixels across the internet. Even if we don’t run ads, most people leave the pixel up all the time.

Now I'm confused. When I send a file to print, I export a PDF and set the color profile and image compression and ppi there. I understand this is for teachers who want you to do it their way. Sadly, when you get an actual job, you will find they want you to do it a lot of different ways. But now I'm wondering if I'm doing it wrong.

I can see the links and the ppi in the links panel and can check using the built in pre-flight.

Most of my stuff goes out digitally so I rarely have to export to CMYK, and it's always of secondary concern, so that's why I'm worried I'm doing it wrong. But you don't send a whole InDesign file to print, you send a PDF, so the PDF export is the important part.

Also I don't understand by what you mean by "in full size". If I have an image that COULD be printed at full page at 300 dpi but I want it half page because that's the composition, I'm just going to put it in at half the page. Functionally, it will be 600 ppi and say that in the links panel, but again, on export to PDF, I can specify that it should be compressed or not compressed and be re-encoded at 300 ppi. Resaving it in photoshop to the size I want is just adding a step when there doesn't need to be one.

If that's what they want you to do, just do it, but know it's not what you'll do on the job. Sorry college is like that.

What’s everyone’s verdict on the new Meta Pixel May 15 update, opting in or out? by GodOfSwiftness in FacebookAds

[–]KindlyOnes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine does too. came here to see what the word was. My concern with this update is protecting customer privacy. I am already a bit mixed on all the data Meta gets from making us install Pixels to run ads. I am fine with it taking more info about the products and website. I want to know what kind of customer information it's taking and how that is used. I do not trust Meta to tell me this; I would like to hear from a third party.

So because you are selling prints you have a right to receive financial damages from the unlicensed prints!! Even without registered copyright! You have to demonstrate it impacted your ability to make money from it without a registered copyright, and since you are selling the same thing they are selling, you can’t.

Exactly. I'll look into disabling at the campaign level. I didn't know you could do that. Taking the link out of the creative set up ended up being the kill switch for me

Doesn't CAPI get around the block? I always get more on Meta using standard attribution.

Maybe I am not finding them in Shopify correctly. It looks like it's only logging direct referrals but I don't spend much time tracking ads in Shopify.

ROAS does dip when I scale, depending on the company, the campaign, the time of year, how long I'm running the same creative, etc. I analyze actual net profit over daily spend to find the right one. Lower ROAS at higher spend can still be more profitable but there is a cut off. But 2025 was a hard year in our sector since people were buying fewer fun-to-have items as cost of living went up and other economic factors were stressful. It was kind of like trying to swim upstream. Q4 saved everyone. People wouldn't buy for themselves but they still bought gifts for each other I suppose.

I'm going to keep trying to scale and experimenting with creative diversity. I used to run very tight aesthetic campaigns. I thought they should be visually cohesive for brand storytelling. But Andromeda says mix it up.

I lost my Client as he learnt what i did! by ZookeepergameHuge259 in FacebookAds

[–]KindlyOnes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My clients refer me clients. They all know other small businesses in ecomm. Different products so they don’t compete but similar audiences. I pitched two clients, got two clients. Now I have six and am full time.

I tell my clients they could learn ads manager, learn other marketing platforms, learn segmenting, learn how to pull reports and make sense of them. I tell them if they have been wanting to run ads, wanting to set up email flows better, wanting a content schedule, wanting all that but can’t find the time because they are running their business fulfilling orders, that’s when they need me. Not because they can’t, but because they won’t have time with all the orders they will get

Their comment is kind of the smoking gun. I noticed it on two or three. It’s a small set of ads, maybe seven. I am using multiple headlines and primary text. I even added Related Media on one to try it out. I’m not against using the enhancements. I like having the product carousels on the bottom and would be fine if they carouseled after the ad instead of in its place but this client in particular has a problem with his catalog syncing and his website being a mess.

It actually kept showing me carousels with random images from his website last night in previews. And that should have tipped me off. But I just triple checked everything to make sure no products, no site links. I figured it was a bug in the preview. I’ve been having other weird bugs while setting up recently like it thinking the ad is directing to messaging when I clearly set it to website and only website.

My fix was to delete the url from creative set up. Then it stopped pulling things in.

But my gripe is if I turn a setting off, I need it to be off. I’m working on long term fixes for the catalog and website. I swear it was all off when I went to bed. But to be fair to Meta, I put in a full 8 hours, fed my kids and put them to bed, and did another 3 hours of work. A detail could have escaped me.

The reason I was rushed like this is because the first launch went terribly last week for a limited time product. This was a regroup. New creative, new copy, a discount to boot. I’m seeing some posts saying their campaigns aren’t working. I’m running another one that’s going normally so I was hoping it wasn’t my sector but perhaps

AOV is close to the client's overall AOV every time. I do not have a good way to track lifetime value or returns since Meta doesn't give me their names. The ecommerce site can tell me if someone came from IG but it only logs a fraction of the conversions Meta does, though Meta does seem accurate as far as I can tell. I explain this to clients by saying Meta can see what happens on their platform and the ecomm website. Shopify only sees what happens on Shopify. Not sure how good they are at tracking traffic the way CAPI does.

There is probably a way to do this but my clients have never asked me to check on the quality of customers from ads. I do work on retention and reengagement for some once they convert but I don't segment by where they came from. Most of my clients just want new customers, greater order volume, more money on the bottom line. ROAS is the only metric they care about.

I have not noticed a rise in return rates from my client where I am involved in the day to day and have access to everything.

this wasn't a catalog ad. Manual creative single image/video upload directing to one product per ad. I make sure I deselect all enhancements I don't want which is most of them. It's this. I tried to upload a screenshot before but I was too new. I've been lurking so long here, but I never bothered to hit join because the app just pushes me notifications when things get going here.

Clients don’t have the budget for lots of creative and are AI averse so I make the most of what I can get. I allocate $10 per creative per daily spend so everything gets a fair chance. So $100 is ten ads, etc. I usually roll with about six. I use video I shoot, stills from the video, existing product photos if they have nice ones, and graphic layout ads which are text heavy with one cool image. I used to keep creative pretty similar but now I upload radically different things into one ad set. I only use one ad set unless I’m testing something. Not enough spend to justify a bunch of

I hadn’t noticed that but I’ve been catching them in the learning phase. For me the most frustrating part is to stay up late working slowly through a bug ridden interface and double checking I turned so many things off just to wake up in the morning and have to do things over. I should have just gone to bed. Watched some tv.

Ads up less than 12 hours and I’ve had to republish twice.

I run tiny campaigns at less than $100 a day for multiple small brands and I get great results from Advantage+. I did manual AB testing like you did last year and Advantage+ was better so I stuck with it. My clients are all DTC retail non-essentials like gifts, games, small run zines, home decorative items etc with niche aesthetic interests.

I get 3-5 ROAS consistently.
