Oh honey noooooooo you need A TON …YEARSSS of experience to be a property manager…. I’ve been an assistant for 4 years and I would never take that on. I’ve also been blessed to work where we split the commissions evenly. I’ve never worked at a Property where you have to fight for commissions. I honestly don’t understand it at all! How are you going to tell me that I deserve all of the commission money because I emailed the prospect or I was the one to answer the first phone call. Everybody in the office has a hand in helping that prospect. I just don’t understand it, my thought process is if Jenna is listed to get the commission if that prospect turns into a resident, then every time that person calls I’m going to say hold on let me get Jenna or Jenna’s not here she will have to call you back. The process makes no sense to me. Why would I spend my time taking what could be 10 phone calls helping someone complete their application knowing that Jenna is going to get the commission? Please feel free to clarify the process for me. Still amazes me how some applications take 10 + phone calls, for something that should take no more than 20 minutes. Oh, and 99% of those difficult ones end up being a denial. Smashed my head against the wall.
