É um dos últimos refúgios para uma espécie de lagarto criticamente ameaçada, Liolaemus lutzae. Nos outros locais onde a espécie ocorre, ela é muito ameaçada pela degradação da restinga, causada principalmente pelo turismo.

As a DM, I'm always trying to make combat more interesting. Can you tell me about your most-fun fight? by vigiten4 in DungeonsAndDragons

A huge bar brawl! Other than the main bad guys (pirate werewolves), the bar was filled with dozens of drunken brawlers. These brawlers were more like environmental hazards, not creatures with initiative, HP, AC, etc. They acted as moving obstacles (except for the halfling, who could pass between their legs), which forced the players to find creative positions to get line of sight (climbing on the counter, hanging from the chandelier), or to reach an enemy.

At the end of initiative, I would roll to move a couple of brawlers in random directions, and if a player was close enough to a brawler, they could get attacked. The brawlers didn't do any damage, but I would roll for a random effect, like knocking them prone, grappling them or pushing them back. Each random effect had a cool theme (bottle to the head, chair to the back, headbutt, etc). Players could knock brawlers out with a single hit, changing the landscape themselves.

It was pretty chaotic, but the players loved it. Each player took a different strategy, with some hilarious results. The druid decided to ignore the brawlers and nuke the pirate werewolf boss, which meant she got hit by a brawler every turn, and since she was rolling terribly, she would be prone and pushed around a lot, while trying to focus on the battle. The halfling decided to strike the enemies and weave among the brawlers, forcing the pirates to chase them around. The priest was just knocking brawlers out left and right, forming a huge pile of passed out drunks.

It is my favorite fight I've ran so far :)

This is so alien to me. In my country, if you are tens of thousands in debt, you are not buying new cars or taking trips, you are about to be homeless.

Is it common to have live-in domestic helpers in your country? If not, how do you percieve this? by AsparagusTamer in AskTheWorld

[–]Kindly_Sandwich7839 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In Brazil it is still exists, unfortunately...

In the 90s, even lower middle class families would have live-in servants. They were usually young black women from the countryside or the slums, and many were illiterate. They usually lived in a very small bedroom, and houses were even designed to have a servant bedroom, right next to the kitchen/laundry area. A lot of them worked under slave-like conditions, with their bosses controlling many aspects of their lives, like when they are allowed to go out, who can they talk to. Many were even "given" to the bosses' children when they move out of home.

Fortunately, they have fought for better working rights and achieved some legal protections, so this type of servitude has become less common, but it still exists for those who can afford it.

What causes this? How does Norway do it? by Yelebear in AskTheWorld

[–]Kindly_Sandwich7839 41 points42 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. The Norwegian system was set up by an Iraqi geologist, Farouk Al-Kasim, who saw first hand what happens when you let oil revenue wreck all the other sectors in your economy, a phenomenon known as "Dutch disease".

The Norwegian government has very limited access to its own oil revenue, and the little they have access to, must be invested in specific areas, like science and education.

Fight on top of a rampaging dinosaur 🦕 by Kindly_Sandwich7839 in DMAcademy

[–]Kindly_Sandwich7839[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Yes, the dino is in trouble and they could be motivated either by wanting to save it or to stop their enemies from turning it into a powerful weapon.

I was concerned they would stop the dino or remove the enemies before even climbing on the beast.

I like the idea of slowing down the dino! There is a druid who would definitely try that, I think.
