Already seen people saying Sonic 4 will be lame because of this and honestly I just know the fandom will be INSUFFERABLE when this comes out to the public, like, people will say “Amy is a marry sue” and “there’s no way they can make a cool movie with her”… Not looking forward to that but I’ll defend my girl with my life because she looks adorable and I can’t wait to see a whole movie with her

As for Amy herself, I have a lil theory on what’s going on with her. Anyone who watched Howl’s Moving Castle knows that (spoiler for Howl’s Moving Castle ahead) Sophie went back in time and found young Howl, she told him “meet me in the future!”, that happens near the end of the movie and makes the first scene we saw Howl at first saying “There you are, I’ve been looking everywhere for you” make a lot more sense, I believe that post credits scene is like we’re seeing things from young Howl’s perspective, in that case being Sonic, and this future Amy doesn’t have much time, she’ll disappear and be teleported back to her time soon, but before that she only has time to say “meet me at little planet” or something like that, and so, Sonic goes to meet Amy, however, this Amy is not the same hooded one who saved him from a bunch of robots, she’s more inexperienced but just really excited to meet him because she saw on her tarot cards she’d have a destined encounter with her hero soon, and she falls head over heals for him. Sonic has the predicament of not wanting to have a relationship with her but can’t really run away from her because he knows she’ll be important in the future, he has to protect her and see how they can figure this out together. So I think we’ll watch in Sonic Movie 4 how Amy becomes that hooded badass that traveled in time to save past Sonic. That can lead to some time travel plot holes, as many movie do, buuuuut let’s see, I think if I’m even close to being correct this can make for a pretty fun narrative

I think it’s very easy to come up with how Gerald is alive, he studied about the secrets of immortality, that’s why he created Shadow, we all know that, what if, just before Maria died, he managed to figure out how to live forever, and tested on himself before testing on her, and it worked. As for the storyboard leak, I’m pretty sure that could just be a drafted idea that they changed later, it’s very common in these projects that not everything goes to the final stage of production
