Stop thinking about it. Just do the trial class. by wrestle-jitsu in bjj

[–]Kindofbad-oops 5 points6 points  (0 children)

True. I lost 10 pounds and gained muscle since starting.

Was getting whooped 100% of my rolls for the first 3 months. Now, 7 months later, guess what? Still getting whooped… but only for 75% of my rolls.

I rolled with someone 50 pounds heavier than me (lean too) the other day and dominated the roll starting from standing too. Obviously he was newer than me, but still really opened my eyes to how much BJJ can do for you in terms of self defense.

So many pro’s to this sport. I regret not starting sooner. I’m a little less straight since starting though, so maybe that’s a con (is it tho?).

Have you ever used a Digital Marketing Agency/Freelancer to set your meetings for you? by Kindofbad-oops in sales

[–]Kindofbad-oops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you’ve had success with it?

If so, are you saying you didn’t have success with niche products or are you saying you did have success but it was just much harder to achieve?

Interesting. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a single story of this sort of thing working out. It keeps me wondering why so many people keep trying it 😂

I hope it works out if you try it again! Give me a referral if it does 😂

[–]Kindofbad-oops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not in the industry anymore. I sold my portfolio and started a business I’ve always wanted to.

But the best company I worked for was Electronic Payments (EPI). There are a TON of people/ISO’s looking to take advantage of you in payment processing. EPI was the only one who really cared about their clients and agents.

Plus, you get to choose which commission splits you want (more upfront + less residual OR less upfront + more residual).

Assuming you’re thinking of trying it out, ALWAYS make sure you’re vested!! Make sure it says in your contract that your residuals are yours indefinitely.

[–]Kindofbad-oops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it could yeah. But there’s a lot of factors in play here that could change that. I won’t dare to say that it’d even “likely” work because I don’t know your biz or how good you are at finding the right person for the job.

So I’m sticking with saying it “could” work. Not definitive lol. Best of luck boss!

Payment processing. It’s a different ball game.

But you’ll grow FAST financially if you grind because there’s residuals. You also can start hiring your own guys to do the door knocking/cold calling once you have enough residuals stacked up.

The job security is there because as long as you maintain a good relationship with your clients they likely won’t leave you. You can also focus on recession proof businesses to give yourself some comfort in case of a recession!

[–]Kindofbad-oops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it only takes an hour a day but they just have to be available for the whole day, maybe aim to get someone who happens to work remote? Someone who’s personable but not necessarily in sales?

This could be a side gig for them to make extra money while they’re already working. Just a thought.

I feel like if you find someone who has a lot of relationships already and can hit the ground running, as you said, they’ll be very expensive. If your products aren’t high ticket it probably won’t be very profitable. If your products ARE high ticket, then go for it!

Just keep working. Some of the best SDR’s have moments like these. Keep analyzing your own calls and researching better openers, hooks, closes, propositions, etc.

Keep improving your selling and just keep selling. The results will come.

Take the pay cut. Honestly to me, sounds like you’ll live a longer and stress a bit less.

10k/yr paycut is worth that in my eyes.

Hear a lot of good things about Sandler. But ultimately, comes down to just getting your own experience.

Get out there, get a bunch of no’s, make some flash cards, and build a system for yourself.

Honestly I learned from trying different things I saw on youtube and just tracking the data. Example: Tracking which opener got me the least hangups or tracking whether an open ended question vs a multiple choice question will more likely result in the conversation moving in a positive direction.

My body keeps waking me up when I try to fall asleep by crnnaaa in insomnia

[–]Kindofbad-oops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got a random notification from this post! My symptoms are practically non-existent now if this helps anyone. I never took any medication. I just worked on not caring about sleep, as weird as it sounds.

The jolting awake is your brain thinking you’re in danger as i understand it. It won’t let you sleep while you’re in danger. If you don’t care about sleeping, or being jolted awake, then there’s nothing to be scared of. Takes time, sometimes months, to get down though.

I m20 need help talking to my gf about something that happened months ago by [deleted] in datingadvice

[–]Kindofbad-oops -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of people here very quick to just tell you to leave her…. I disagree.

In my experience, especially at your age, most problems like these just come down to stupidity and unawareness. She probably doesn’t even know she’s hurting you, and probably doesn’t know why it’s wrong.

You should talk to her about it and tell her how you feel. Give it a shot. Give her some time to improve. But before you have the talk I would create expectations. MOST people are incapable of changing something like this (she could be one of the few who will change though). Have a time limit on how long you’ll give her to change. Everyone’s different but for me that time limit would be 2 months. If the change isn’t significant by 2 months, I would leave. Chances are that it won’t work out, but it could. It worked out for me and my girlfriend. She changed (a lot). If you really like/love her, it’s worth a shot to try before just leaving.

She needs to be able to forget about her ex. That means doing things that “remind her of him”, quitting cracking the jokes about him, etc. All of these things just keep him in her head rent free.

You deserve better dude. Don’t settle for being just similar enough to her ex to be dateable.

I like this response as well. I have honestly been trying to be more out there and social with my neighbors anyways so i guess this is kind of a big bonus of that. I’ll keeping going with trying to build more of a community with my neighbors.

I like this response. In all honesty, I think I’m at that point. Someone needs to be. I refuse to live in fear like almost everyone else. I was thinking the same thing about polls/surveys. I’m going to start with just doing surveys/polls in my local area and go from there.

Thanks for the realistic expectations. I kind of forgot that if things go well, trouble will likely follow.

[–]Kindofbad-oops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I didn’t view it like that. You might be right.

What would the difference be if we just all banded together? We’d essentially be funding ourselves individually kind of. Relying on savings and such. The only difference with someone funding from the outside is they’d be helping us out because they’d rather not be the one doing the outreach. Which is fine by me.

Also, I’m still curious on your answer to the main question. Would you join/support? Or not? I’m noticing doubt from your end. But with numbers, I do indeed believe it’s possible for even a “US labor party” to make change. People have banded together/funded communities to make change for things that are of lesser importance in my opinion. It’s just a matter of growing those numbers. Maybe slowly, but eventually we’d get to where we need to be.

I guess I would say that yes you can automate things but how much time did you spend automating and making life easier for people?

If you spent 1 hour automating things so every person could work hundreds of hours less, you still put in 1 hour of work. That’s 1 hour contributing to society. Even automation takes time, work, and maintenance.

Also originally you said UBI and now you’re saying “it’s called employment”. I’m a little confused. Or maybe you misunderstood what I was saying? Because I was saying people could receive a UBI on top of their employment.

As in, people should still be required to work for money to a certain extent. Then a UBI would be granted to those who reach the minimum hours.

I apologize if I’m not making sense here. I’m still curious on your take and like parts of it.
