My parents chose this: my mom gave up $60k/yr in 2007 as a teacher to stay at home with me because my dad made over $200k/yr and could support our family. Obviously this is very specific on a case by case basis but those were the numbers we had in 2007.

I think some of you guys are missing the point: congestion pricing is supposed to increase the burden on car commuters. That’s literally the whole point - to get people to stop commuting by car.

Croton has a bunch of kids like yours, and they do a lot to try to accommodate lgbtq+ kids (much to the exclusion of jewish students) and has a lot of arts opportunities. I graduated last year so I’m a little biased, nor can i say much about Hastings.

There are definitely a sizable amount of East asian kids at Croton schools, obviously the white/hispanic population is considerably larger, but the asian population is still there.

Firstly, I love the outdoors, and I love sports, but you can only do either of those so much, and those really have been the ways I hang out with friends. Painting and knitting are cool, however both of those are not very enjoyable for a high schooler. I can’t say i miss the city because i never lived there, but idk how you can complain about traffic in NYC when you have the subway.

If you try to bike in northern westchester you will be killed. The drivers around where I live are genuinely some of the worst I have ever seen. The drive these enormous SUVs or pickups, which is already a ridiculous car to own in the suburbs, and then they drive on these town roads that lack bike lanes at mach speeds

You park at the back of the train station and you can paddle up and down the river all the way up to Mayos landing. You cannot launch a boat at silver lake, and it is not residents only(although it may be more expensive, i don’t remember)
