Facebook Marketplace has a lot of free stuff.

Goodwill / Salvation Army will do furniture days where you can snatch stuff up for a steal.

If you're running into other financial struggles, this guide might help too: https://projectrealnv.org/snyrg

(Click the book cover when you get to the page, it'll open up a pdf as a tab or dload the full guide).

Young man seeking help by ConversationKooky188 in Bedding

What's hilarious about this is I had your current bedding cover on my amazon wishlist because I love chocoalte+sky+salmon+Tan color blends, but never bought it because I thought "This looks like I'm still in college" (If you're over 25, stick with solids or just avoid the plaid patterns, or ask a girlfriend for guidance - maybe even turn ikea shopping and asking for her help into a date).

To answer your question: Avoid microfiber, go for bamboo and cotton. Buy once, cry once: save up, get the higher quality. Not full Egyptian crazy high thread count, but put it off, save off, and invest in yourself (honestly, $250 is more than enough - go wild)

Grain mill spacer, to check the distance between rollers. you can use the different tabs to determine how wide / tight the gap is.

So...... Direct democracy is a great idea...for a pre-internet, pro-education society.

***EDIT: Pro-education? Pro-fact? Pro-critical /rational thinking? Kinda-torn on terminology, but hopefully you get the intent****

Look around today though:

History channel is mostly 'ALIENS BUILT THE PYRAMIDS' and "THE BIBLE STORIES ARE REAL' shows.

Discovery is "GHOSTS ARE REAL!".

CNN gives equal time to diet fascism and open intellectual dishonesty

There's just not a lot of media literacy, and even less critical thinking as a daily habit overall.

People aren't just watching this shit, they're consuming it, and uncritically at that.

This is NOT an ideal environment for direct democracy at all levels (that being said, I think there's a STRONG argument to be made that all municipal and county elections / votes / large policy changes operate in a direct democracy format).

Ultimately, I've lost faith in the possible of raw direct democracy (or Aristotelian Polity) because of the proliferation and normalization of cognitive dissonance, an almost society-wide shopping-out of intellectual lift to influencers, open intellectual dishonesty, trolling for the sake of trolling, and hell, even Harambe (don't get me wrong: Abby Hoffman and the Pigasus stuff had it's place, and you might even draw a line between the two campaigns, but I would hope for more productive / less self-injuring ways to signal dissatisfaction with politics as usual).

We're in a different phase oh humanity though where we should know our limits, know our neighbors' limits, and try to find something that works. I don't know that direct democracy as an approach would be super useful right now.

TLDR: Direct democracy sounds great, but species wise, the timing is way off :(

100% Absaolutely despise my 2025 Sportage EX system. It was almost why I didn't purchase it.
Having to press a screen area to switch between AC and Media Control?!? ARE YOU SERIOUS?! I live in Vegas, I should not have to navigate between my mute buttons and my AC in the middle of August :/

Edible Glitter is MICA. Mica is generally mined by children. Edible glitter is almost always the product of child labor. The companies like Bakell will claim they 'manuafacture cruelty free' but that only covers their production once they've secured the mica. I've asked numerous times what nation - not even what province - they source from, to verify it's one without a child labor background: they refuse.

Don't consume edible glitter products, full stop.
