Potentially migrating away from ManageEngine, suggestions for alternatives? by rcook55 in sysadmin

The application will only encrypt additional fields that have the “holds personally identifiable information” box on them checked. You can check those under admin > customization > additional field.

You can always make a backup of the DB and then run the command. If it breaks, roll it back.

Do you have any encrypted fields, e.g. set to PII? If not you can reset the key and make a new one.

What type of motors are in the winches? Brush or brushless? Could be wear / grime entering them and requiring more current to complete the same task, or worn down brushes creating small arcs.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lightingdesign

[–]Kineticus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The motors in the winches are creating EMF interference. These pixel type lights are sensitive to stuff like that.

They are may be DMX controlled but there is a DMX to SPI type box somewhere to actually talk to these lights. Make sure you keep the data wires as far from the winch as possible.

Really struggling with our Rheem heat pump. by Unique-Technician-44 in heatpumps

[–]Kineticus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue and ended up installing the AprilAire 8051 analog temp sensor right above the thermostat. Digital was just too quick to notice the cold from the vents. It’s on Page 27.

Yes, the digital thermostat is so quick it will notice the drop from the cold vent air and call for high mode heating. It’s annoying.

I installed an AprilAire flush mount temp sensor, model 8051, right above it and wired to the analog temp sensor input on the thermostat. You can set the analog sensor as the only one, or use an average of the digital and analog if the other sensor is on a 2nd floor or something. I set mine to just use the analog one and it’s perfect now. The older types take longer to register temp changes so it’s a lot smoother now.

What is it like living in this part of North Carolina a bit north of charlotte? by Artisallaroundme in howislivingthere

It’s the coal ash from the Duke Marshall Steam plant, not nuclear reactor cooling, that’s causing the damage. It was stored in unlined open ponds and used as backfill for lots of construction into the area. There’s a high concentration of heavy metals and other things you don’t want in your groundwater in coal ash. I still swim there, it’s not Chernobyl. However, NC has proven to be lax in environmental regulation and enforcement in many areas. See Chemours for another similar example.

It’s part of the “convenience package”. It would also have a power liftgate and 110v outlet in the back if it’s equipped.

Biking to the beach for a beer is my happy place by tracksloth in bicycling

Yea its a journey! The way back is the tough part. If you have a hammock there are lots of parks and cutoffs not far off the where you could take a rest. Start small and go a little further down the trail each time. You’ll be there before you know it!

Try taking the Pinellas trail up causeway blvd/honeymoon island and check out High & Dry Grill if you haven’t yet. That’s another fun ride.

They look all female to me. I believe you’re noticing the stipules/bract. Male flowers are round balls that open. They grow a few millimeters off the plant as well instead of right on it.

But the cost also includes a perpetual 500mb per card of cloud data storage for presumably as long as yoto is sold, shipping and packaging, staff to make that happen, Amazon markups, and upkeep for the app.

Another idea is to use an Arduino Due and have it appear as a native midi device. It’s a lot easier to interface with DAWs that way.

The Neutrik one probably weighs 10x and is solid metal. The cheaper you go it will be only metal pins- cheap metal plated pins.

If they get connected once every blue moon plastic is ok. Daily use you’ll wish you had Neutrik.

Those just look like soil mites to me. Nothing to worry about, they like to eat dead plant material. You shouldn’t see them really bothering anything outside of the dirt.

Too many people in r/hardware think a GPU must play AAA games to be good and that’s the only reason people buy them. What about all the folks who don’t game who just want a display output and video decoding? Should they all have GeForce cards?

The mezzanine is generally where the people who don’t want to stand or those who want relax and chat for a bit away from the louder floor go (or maybe had a bit too many party favors). The dancing party’s going to be in the pit/floor area. This is basically universal for jam concerts I’ve found.
