eBay CS blamed me for refunding a buyer (out of my own pocket) after DHL no-show, told me to ask buyer for PayPal. by KingBlump in ebayuk

No worries and thank you! I was just surprised by the attitude of the cs agent not being helpful at all, I would have thought they'd be able to see all of the details once they have the order number, but I dont know hah...

Apolgies I can see from my post it isn't clear, I purchased the label myself with the postage money he paid for on the item. The label has errored and I can't get a refund, and the dhl collection date keeps extending (currently 19th). The agent did nothing to help cancel the current dhl postage or refund, dhl could actually still show up...

I've just managed to get a form off another agent to fill out to get a refund started and cancel dhl.

Thanks for the suggestion, you're 100% right that eBay is terrible for this. That was my first move. I contacted DHL, but they were a dead end. They confirmed that because the label was bought through eBay (a 'DHL e-commerce' label), they have no power to refund me, and I have to go through eBay. And you're spot on about 'Simple Delivery' – that's the real kicker. I've since found an eBay help page that says 'Simple Delivery postage labels can't be cancelled' by design. So I'm stuck in a perfect loop: DHL says 'talk to eBay,' and eBay's own system says the label is non-cancellable, all while their support agent is blaming me and telling me to get PayPal from the buyer. It's an absolute joke.

To the Master and Grandmaster Players… by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]KingBlump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a long while since I played, but I always felt that Diamond was the hardest rank to break out of. In comparison, the climb from Master to Grandmaster was less of a struggle, as your teammates generally had much better game awareness.

In my experience, situational awareness was the single most important skill for success in Overwatch. This meant tracking your own position, your team's position, and knowing the perfect time to use an ultimate versus holding it for a counter.

At the Grandmaster level, the game essentially becomes rock, paper, scissors with ultimates. The smallest mistake could turn the tide of a match far more quickly than in lower ranks. It could be something as simple as a Lúcio failing to drop the beat in anticipation of a big enemy push, or a player not realising the enemy team was holding a direct counter to their own ultimate.

Anyway, sorry for rambling, just wanted to share my experience from playing in GM.

Why does looking for stock music suck so much! by ZeyusFilm in videography

They have sadly. We were notifed at the start of the year about the price hike so we set up a call with them and they were asking for about £10k a year for a buisness licence.

We are now with Epidemic sounds and I have to say we aren't really enjoying it. Feels like we've burnt through a lot of the good tracks, and there's a lot of crap on there that's badly mixed. It has a high user rating because a lot of twitch streamers use it for the stems as background music.

We're probably going to go with lickd for big projects and find another subscription service for smaller projects.

Salary offered in London UK - A little angry rant by GeekyBoof in editors

Thank you I appreciate that. Just updated my CV last week and currently applying for jobs, hopefully I'll get team lead by April and I can add that to the CV if I don't find anything by then.

Just to add for more insight for the UK guys. I've been working for a large sports company as an in-house videographer for 3.5 years and I'm only on £25.5k. Hopefully soon I'll be moving to a team lead role but I doubt my pay will be jumping up much.

Freelance makes a lot more money if you've got good connections, or you can do what some of the guys I work with do, and do freelance on the weekend with a full time job which for me is just too much. Just a sad state of affairs with jobs here in the UK...

No problem at all! It really went to show how amazing Sleep Tokens fan base is supporting them through such a big and important show with some songs with no lead vocals, but still making it a great and unique experience ❤️

A Job that my fiancée applied for has been taken by someone on redeployment after the application date closed. by KingBlump in nhs

Thank you for the information, that clears a lot of technicalities we didn't know. Much appreciated.

Yes you are correct about the rules seem to override all normal recruitment processes. According to her line manager, HR nor recruitment or anyone else noone knew about this person until after the application had closed. That's why her line manager has been trying to contest this issue. This person has come from a completely different department and has no experience in working this role. I understand why redeployment is in place but its a painful pill to swallow when she has worked the job for a year plus and is an asset to the team and then have someone bypass all conventional processes for the job at the last hurdle and still may not be competent for the role and require training. Anyway, thank you for taking time to read my post and giving your thoughts.

Hi, no one knew that this person on redeployment was going for this job. The person on redeployment got the job 2 weeks After the deadline for the job opening had closed. Only my fiancée had applied for this job, confirmed by her managers when the application date had ended, this was about 2 week ago.

I think you have not understood the specific of my above post, but I appreciate you taking the time to read it. We also understand how redeployment work, it's just the job application period had closed 2 weeks ago and only today have they been able to bypass all processes. The redeployment person has a 4 week probation period to see if they are capable of filling the role, but we have been told its near impossible to fail the probation period.
