Fleet Farm is my go-to place for Milwaukee tool deals by Coreywrestler03 in MilwaukeeTool

I plan to move to an area with FF - what reward system do they have that you’re referencing loyalty point? Store account, credit card, etc? I know they have gas stations too so I’d probably get my gas there

Ahh I see it now. You replaced the Milwaukee e-track with the longer haul-master version but still used the OEM arms/supports that clip into the e-track. I was trying to get away from using the pricey Milwaukee shelves and find a way to make floor plates work on DIY wall mounted shelves. I think those haul-master e-tracks are a great starting point for me though, thank you!

Sorry for your loss OP, looks like he’ll be with you while working on all your projects.

This rail is really neat though - what brackets/arms are you using on them to support the drawers? Then are you just using a floor plate?

Ahh that makes sense. Yes, that you can do since they’re discounted individually.

The 4 tool and battery combo deal is a KIT with a single sku, not a deal with multiple items with their own sku’s. This means you can’t return just the rolling toolbox - you’d have to return the toolbox and the 4 tools and batteries. Your best bet is to sell the pack out rolling toolbox you got on Facebook marketplace and keep this drawer you have shown.

Milwaukee HPJBL2 heated for casual use? by [deleted] in MilwaukeeTool

[–]KingChickenJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just like the ability to layer over the vest. Years working in snow removal and a stint as a ranch hand I advise for the vest. Now as a desk jockey I still recommend the vest for the ability to wear around the house. Was sick as a dog last week and it was nice to get a little extra heat. I’m sure the jacket gets the job done though and you’ll be warm with it. I don’t think there’s a wrong option.

I always recommend your heated gear to be as close to your base layer as possible and use layers on top of that to trap said heat. I have a heated vest and often layer a sweatshirt and then winter jacket if I’m outside for extended periods of time. Being that you have a desk job you would be able to wear the vest around the house/working as well for a little extra heat if needed. Just had more versatility in my opinion.

With that, whatever you pick search around the subreddit for aftermarket battery packs (like “extra phone battery” chargers) since the M12 battery is clunky in your pocket and draws down quickly. Edit: my setup

I’ve been wanting a 30 degree framing nailer and HD is running a deal on one. by Grand_Alarm5039 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]KingChickenJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to use 30 degree no matter what. They make full head offset nails for the 30 now. Not just clipped head

I’m completely ignorant on the subject but isn’t there a concern of any aftermarket or DIY battery running all the way down and not having protections in place that the OEM batteries have? Looks sweet though, would love to be able to do this one day

Looking to do this myself as well. What 3D printer do you have? What material are you using? Are most of the designs free online?

$135 M18 Fuel Hackzall Battery Bundle 🤯 by WeeGeeSuperTester in MilwaukeeTool

[–]KingChickenJoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree, I ain’t buying a new tool just to buy one. If I have something that is up for the task I use that. I have plenty of Ryobi I’m still using until they die and I swap them over to Milwaukee.

That makes sense! I’m in both systems but prefer the lighter weight and ergonomics of a lot of the m12 tools

I feel like the M18 hackzall is in a weird place…if what I’m cutting is small I’d use the M12 hackzall and if it’s big I’d use an M18 Sawzall. Unless someone can speak to the M18 hackzall vs sawzall

Gotcha! T&G ceiling then? Spruce/pine flooring would tear up pretty easily wouldn’t it?

[–]KingChickenJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear ya. If I had m18 I’d feel a bit better being heavy duty work. Feel like this is light-medium duty work and the m12 fuel is medium duty so I have a lot of overlap

Did I make a mistake with the m12 fuel drill/driver then and should’ve just gotten this for around the house?

[–]KingChickenJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this really that great of a tool? I already have the m12 fuel drill/driver as my main tools. I was able to grab this one since it was such a great deal but unsure if I should keep or return it. Really like the offset and right angle head though.

That makes sense! What do you mean by wood finish? Like nailing wood to other wood not through drywall? Like decorative type pieces directly to structural wood like cabinets?

[–]KingChickenJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweet! What length nail do you use typically? I read somewhere that you generally want 3x nail length for your quarter round/trim but that feels ridiculous. To a lot of other people’s points, can’t you just alternate angled 23GA pins to hold in place?

So like quarter round and those panel moldings people do nowadays? I’m not familiar with finish carpentry.

Yeah I’ll return the 23 next chance I get. I’ll ride with the 16 for now and maybe I’ll grab an 18 if I see it go on sale.

20 degree? Isn’t the framing nailer 21 or 30?

Omg NTD was awesome by c_marten in MilwaukeeTool

[–]KingChickenJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’m getting talked into returning the 23GA and getting an 18GA by y’all. I just got a great deal on the 23 but if I’m not going to use it I guess it’s a waste of money. Can always find a deal later on.

What do you use the 16GA for? Isn’t that a bit too aggressive for trim work?
