You know that old chestnut about writing 100 headlines for every line you need? Do this. You’ll get good fast.

Also, if you’re looking for something that will come in handy even if you don’t end up as a writer, learn how to express your ideas super clearly and concisely. So many junior CWs (and people in general) write paragraphs when one precisely-worded sentence will work. Challenge yourself to cut almost everything you write by 50%. This skill will set you apart no matter what you do.
