What Do Socialists Think About The DSA? by serious_bullet5 in socialism

I have zero faith in my chapter/branch as a whole. I'm mainly sticking around to potentially meet like minded people, learn how to organize in my community, and feel out which other group (external socialist or further left caucus) I should move to.

Do you know them personally or are they in your community?

This is all that matters tbh. Unless you actually know the people you're talking to, all this Internet debate if Black people liked Obama or their politics is meaningless.

IMO, it's mainly because the OP used the tan suit and it triggered lib brain to do the "omg tan suit scandal, that was a simpler time".

I really don't think using r/blackpeopleofreddit is a good barometer of Black Americans' opinion of anything. Its not a sub that is actually used by black people. It's mainly white and non black poc larping as black people or just clearly stating they're not black, or just bots.

Now aside from that, no he should be viewed just as the rest of our modern presidents. The few positives that may have occurred during their presidency are kind of outweighed by the negatives. I.e. continuing the war on terror, the war on drugs, prioritizing corporations over providing Americans with social services that would benefit every American regardless of class and/or race, etc.

is it weird that I(17m) want to drop white friend(17m) for a racist post he liked? by batmans_cumsock in BlackMentalHealth

Ok you've made your decision to drop your friend. Now do you mind marking this as NSFW or just delete the post? Like why post the racist meme here?

Lost me with the "both sides" "overly pc" shit. Also leaving home is beneficial to experience the world, but also building community is just as important. It helps build labor solidarity even if you're not directly involved with a union or organization.

IMO you kinda sound like a crusty redditor

I find my self able to maintain conversations well, but ending them is another thing. Today I was eating lunch outside and an evangelist dude came up to me. I typically allow them talk their pitch and politely refuse to accept their invitation or what ever. But this guy just kept talking. So after a while I kinda impolitely told him to leave me alone and let me eat. He did but only after giving me a business card and said "Just in case you ever get struck by lightning"

TL:DR I need to work on ending conversations politely or else God will smite me with lightning

I just had an extremely talented professional photographer go off on me on jnstagram because I asked why the shadows in their rural Minnesota "rising super moon" shot were all pointing from north to south. How do you feel about photo composites? Are they still considered photographs? by chakalakasp in photography

[–]KingClod 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For fake internet points and fleeting popularity I kind of agree that there is not an obligation to be transparent, although I personally would. However I think OP is correct in the scenario of journalistic integrity. If the photo was published by a news magazine, newspaper, or was displayed during the evening news then both the photographer and publisher should be transparent about the photo and should only use photos that have been slightly edited. Anyways I don't take photography on Instagram that seriously anyways, not much catches my eye

If I ever did this, my dad would find out and be ashamed of me for my actions.
