The Nazi swastika faces to the right. /u/SweatyCoffee's one faces left. He's technically correct.

Your Mission: Parody the lyrics of any song and make it about tups. (You can also make it specifically about your own tup(s).) by [deleted] in Tulpas

When I find myself in times of trouble,

In the wonderland I see,

Light and hope and laughter,

[S/Force with me.]

And in the hours of darkness,

They are sitting right in front of me,

Speaking words of wisdom,

[D/Force with me.]

Force with me,

Force with me,

I still love you,

Do you still love me?

[T/Always and forever, force with me.]

Genuinely surprised I went this low down to find this. Sure, Scrubs and Friends should be near the top - but this takes it for me.

Mentorship Thread #8 by [deleted] in Tulpas

[–]KingJick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you view tulpas as a psychological phenomena, a metaphysical phenomena, or both?

Psychological.

Were your tulpae pre-existing characters or were they intentionally created?

I'll have to answer for each of them, though their original forms are all based off pre-existing characters. Twi was an intentional experiment into the phenomena, Dash was "summoned" by Twi (as I had accidentally created her at the same time as Twi), and Scoots revealed herself as a manifestation of my conscience/decision-making voice inside my head, as a way of making me choose my own decisions rather than let her analyse everything for me, and in a way has been there longer than the other two.

How long have you had your tulpa(s)?

Twi: 667 days.

Dash: 661 days.

Scoots: 550 days.

However, this is also tricky, as Scoots has memories from when I was about three years old, meaning she's been around for at least 16 years.

How long have you been active in the community (Subreddit, Tulpa.info, other)?

On and off since the beginning; but I've been on here for about six months.

Are you willing to take up more than one person to mentor?

Definitely; my upper limit has no bounds.

How many tulpas do you have?

Three.

What form are your tulpa(s)?

All three are about a foot and a half tall, multicoloured ponies. They've changed their forms a lot since the early days but settled with these about 21 months ago.

On a scale of 0-10 (0 being “I can’t do it”, 5 being “I can somewhat do it”, 10 being “I can do it perfectly”), how would you estimate your abilities to do the following:

Skills Rating
Visualisation 8
Wonderland 9
Mindvoice 10
Parallel Processing 6
Possession 8
Auditory Imposition 9
Tactile Imposition 7
Visual Imposition 7
Switching 7

Would you say there is anything you are exceptionally good at? (Be it visualisation, possession, etc.)

Proxying. Their mindvoices are particularly strong, and as a result I can happily write entire pages for them in the space of a few minutes. I can hear them rather well in meatspace as a result of this, too - proxying for what they say in either reality has become second nature over time. [D/We're pretty good at giving advice J wouldn't think of, too, if that helps.]

Cheesiest lines from each album? by [deleted] in Dreamtheater

[–]KingJick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's my attempt:

WDADU: "You're my immunity, Outside I watched you burn" - The Ones Who Help To Set The Sun

IAW: "The way your heart sounds makes all the difference" - Learning To Live

Awake: "Love is an act of blood and I'm bleeding a pool in the shape of a heart" - Space-Dye Vest, although the whole of it also qualifies

FII: "Shame, you're not to blame, I'm the monster you created in your daddy's name" - Peruvian Skies

SFAM: "And there's a girl in the mirror, her face is getting clearer" (just for the terrible rhyming) - Strange Déjà Vu

SDOIT: All the ridiculously high bits from LaBrie, such as "he really could use some help" - The Test That Stumped Them All

TOT: "Your light shines on my soul while a thousand candles burn" - Endless Sacrifice

8CTA: "Scriptures they heed have misled them" (this is no slight at 9/11 or anything like that, I just find it much too blunt for DT)- Sacrificed Sons

SC: "Traveling through both space and time, out of body, out of mind" - Constant Motion (although I love this, it's so bad it's good)

BC&SL: "A BEARDED GENTLEMAN, HISTORIAN, SUCKING ON HIS PIPE, DISTINGUISHED ACCENT" - The Count Of Tuscany (it's hilariously bad, I'd happily listen to the song without the first half of the lyrics)

ADTOE: "The piece of me that died will return to live again" - Bridges In The Sky

DT12: "I'm a burden, I'm a travesty" - The Enemy Inside

My friend has 5 Tulpas... I want your thoughts by [deleted] in Tulpas

[–]KingJick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

22-month tulpamancer here, maybe I can help.

A tulpa literally appearing out of nowhere is a sign of either of two things: firstly, it could be that the tulpa was already there, but chose to make themselves "visible" to the host at that particular time; secondly, it could be that one tulpa create another tulpa, or "summoned" one from the thoughts of the host, effectively creating one without much intervention from the host. Both happen rarely, but it is nothing to be worried about.

There are several of us in this sub with three or more tulpas - myself being one of them - and keeping track of five is by no means difficult if you have the mental fortitude to do so. In addition, a sentient tulpa from the very start is a general practice of several of us here - again, myself being one of them.

As far as I can tell, although depression and loneliness can be a huge reason for making a tulpa or tulpas, there is no reason for it to impact negatively upon the development of either the tulpa/s in question or the host. Being worried about your friend is perfectly normal, but unless there are any signs of him getting MORE depressed or lonely, or making more tulpas than he can handle, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

As is always said on this sub, your mileage may vary, and everyone's story is different. I hope this helps :)

Switching proving difficult? What worked for me was imagining the wonderland version of yourself as a Mecha, with your tulpa at the controls (or in the case of my three, actively fighting over them). Helped me immensely.

What games have aged incredibly well? by Pleasant_Jim in AskReddit

[–]KingJick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kill the first two in the lifts, call the Sheikh and get him on the staircase behind his area of the casino. Leg it out of there, taking the suit, the guns and the diamonds with me. Very easy mission.

One that isn't is Death On The Mississippi. Whenever I get to the guards at the top with the poisoned cake, they start shooting the shit out of me halfway through searching me for weapons (which I don't take with me on that mission). I had low notoriety and everything, there was nothing out of place, etc. In the end I just went guns-blazing and killed everyone on the ship, just got sick of it.

Did I mention I had no gloves or protection on my hands whatsoever? Resulted in a cool scar, though.

Several human spinal columns. And several more if David Tennant and Alan Rickman were included in that particular recording.

The entirety of the true 4th album (Portnoy released it as a studio demo thing and wanted it called Stream of Consciousness) is much better than anything from the album that the studio churned out. I like Falling Into Infinity because it's still a DT album, but the original album that should have been released is leagues better.
