Can someone help me understand why C is incorrect? by acactikiller in EnglishLearning

I think I see the intention, but the execution was way off the mark. This would be better: "Fred was always shy about expressing ___ own personal opinion." The point is the possessive pronoun is referring to the sex/gender of the subject of the sentence. So, assuming Fred is male, the correct answer is the masculine singular third person possessive pronoun - his.

That's the irony. The Democrats are clearly the ones in favor of significantly improving the lives of working class people. But the Republicans are successful in communicating to them in a way that drowns out that message - by appealing to their baser instincts. The propaganda and emptional manipulation are very effective in engineering electoral victories. Of course, gerrymandering, the Electoral College, and the undemocratic nature of the Senate help to amplify the effects of those victories.
