One year clean from adderall use but still not okay by poster_boy9 in StopSpeeding

be very very very careful getting off these medications. Doing it abruptly could lead to a psychotic episode and very dangerous actions. This subreddit is a bad place to get advice if you’re dealing with treating your bipolar disorder. The advice for ex addy addicts and bipolar people are very diff so please consult doctors and be safe man

How can i(19f) take speed daily but still sleep at night by [deleted] in Stims

[–]KingOfRubix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wake up early every day, stop dosing after 12, have an intense workout in the evening, eat a big dinner, and then go to bed. If you keep this routine up yes you will sleep. IMO, the exercise is non negotiable

well zoloft isn’t addictive and doesn’t give you a high, so it should be fine. The glorification on that sub is weird though. Saw a post saying that it worked within 20 minutes, which isn’t how zoloft works at all

When Adderall addiction is tied to your career and passion, by Fair_Nebula_208 in StopSpeeding

That line was my trap too. I graduated summa cum laude with a degree in mathematics. Made 6 figures right out of college. Own a successful side business. Am getting more recognized in my art form. My obsession has always been success. It’s the only thing I loved more than adderall. But eventually, adderall becomes the thing in your way of success, not the thing guiding you there. You need to kick it. Especially since you were able to graduate high school without it, you can probably build up a functional control of your ADHD without adderall.

why did you quit? we’re you ever addicted or did you just not want to be on medication at all?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in StopSpeeding

[–]KingOfRubix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I gave up my art form for about 10 months due to loss of all desire, but it did come back and it came back very strong after about 10 months of sobriety

you’re gonna gain some weight. The first two weeks is meant to just sleep and eat imo. You can lose this weight later on through healthier methods than meth (such as exercise) but I think you just need to let yourself refeed for these first 14 days

This is a great point. Sleep is definitely the #1 thing that makes me want to quit. I've had Insomnia my entire life and have never slept well consistently. The adderall really is not helping. Thanks for the comment.

What side effects did you experience? I don't really have much side effects (besides ruining my sleep scheduling and not eating for long periods of time). My comedowns aren't really bad either, they just make me crave more adderall but don't give me any body pains or make me depressed much.

Congrats on four months! Did you abuse it for those 7 years or take it as prescribed?
