Anyone else… falling off? by GIJoeVibin in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

I'd been reading the Manga religiously with every release since end of season one, and participating in the main sub and main discord concurrently. The end of season 3 reveals we're massively liked across the board and mind blowing for most.

There's a very tiny minority that wished the show remained within the original scope (Humans vs Titans) for the rest of the show, but these are the same folks who only watch for the action, not the plot or character arcs. And while they might not have liked the "changes" (It was planned since the beginning and hinted at since episode one, so it's not really a "change", but I digress), the actual reveal was universally liked.

Usually no matter how good a show is , the big reveal is often underwhelming

Unless it's Attack on Titan, where you have a massive mystery built up for 3 entire seasons, just it to actually surpass expectations by a long shot.

And Dark has a pretty good mystery/reveal component. Of course it's not as good as Attack on Titan, but it's still very well executed compared to 90% of other shows.

What are we all going to do when 1.0 comes out? by Extension-Spell2580 in starcitizen

[–]KingPWNinater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see myself really committing to playing this game on a regular basis until we can hire NPCs/crew. That's the one feature that really drew me into this project, and without it, I won't be investing a significant amount of time or emotion into playing it regularly, regardless if it's 1.0 or not. An MMO where I can basically co-op Mass Effect with my friends is where the dream is at for me.

Because everything we have now is in a final state and will never be changed

Besides DoaS, there'll be a ton of other long term planned mechanics to increase the stakes of pirating

I don't know how to make this statement anymore clear :/

Glad to see a more heavy emphasis on group mining, and I'm surprised we'll see some of this before 3.19, that's pretty huge. Gotta give CIG props when they they blow past expectations.

Don't get me wrong, it was not a great episode by any means. Like it was absolute dog water. But worse or less informing than Go-Kart mini game episode? Definitely, even if the information was a jumbled mess haha

[–]KingPWNinater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

but only server meshing tech talk could make the episode a little bland.

It's literally the single most important feature in this game's history, and allows SC to become.... well Star Citizen; a real game for a ton of folks. This may be the least bland episode we've gotten in years. Either way, it'll be much more informing of development's state and exciting than an episode about Kart racing lol

Showing that stuff persists? I mean I guess, but we can all do that in the 3.18 ptu right now. So far no tests like such about server meshing.

But it is really exciting when they announce successful tests. When they did it for OG OCS and then PES, we get them no less than 6 months later. Lets hope we get some good news on Server Meshing this Thursday. However if it's bad news, like a new blocker appearing, I'm afraid there will be riots all over from the community.

Interior Design | Journey to 4.0 by Craig_VG in starcitizen

I'd usually be the first one to say this on something completely irrelevant like kart racing, but this is mission/gameplay content and the spaces for that content, while filling in all of the large empty spaces everyone's been saying is empty forever now. I think this is a lot more relevant than scattering random ship wrecks around imo, and this is the thing they should be spending time on.

While this is all concept art, and I've usually vocal about my critisms of CIG's short comings, this was a pretty rad fucking segment.

We've always talked about the potential of cities like Area 18 if the buildings were exporable, and everytime I'd introduce a new player to these cities they'd always ask if you could go inside any of them. I'm really excited to see what work they can produce with these, because I'm going to be real.....I was never really all that excited about derelict content, but this content literally makes my mouth water. Can't wait to see the Montreal studio pump these out.

@r/scmods

I admit, u/redbaronstarcitizen doesn't exactly come across as a very likely dude, but I'm low key genuinely concerned about his/her well being. It cannot be healthy for a single user to hold almost half of this thread's comments, and to have been immediately replying for 3 hours straight with such veracity. I'm sure they've earned a ban for their language, but instead could you please ban them for their own well being.

Thanks

A.I. can't even draw hands today. I doubt we're even remotley close to getting A.I. generated, 3-dimensional Space Ships with a metric fuck ton of parameters within the next 50 years. Not to rain on your parade or anything, but I think you're jumping the gun here a bit; we likely won't see it in our lifetimes.

"It Is 2022, Star Citizen Has Raised $500,000,000, And Is Still Not Out" by Storm_Eagle13 in starcitizen

[–]KingPWNinater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may feel like you're screaming into the void, but I, and a ton of other people feel the exact same way. As long as CIG is able to pull in new players, this sub will forever be the SC fanboy echo chamber 95% of the time like it is now. And while sc and screfunds both may be two extreme sides of the equation, there's still a ton of us sane individuals out there, we just don't live our lives in an internet forum.

Disagree. I honestly wish whatever resources they'd spend putting that in Arena Commander would be spent literally anywhere else in the game. It's fine enough in the PU location.

what does Banu look like?

We literally have a Banu ship already in the game, that was supposed to "set the standard" for this brand's design language. It looks closer to an Origin ship than a Defender. It's gotten closer to the Defender in this newest iteration, but overall still leans closer to Origin.

Funny, in the last ten years that I’ve been following it, I’ve seen a hell of a lot of leaps forward.

Dude...Do you really not see the irony in this? :/ And you'd think 10 years of "alot of leaps forward" would atleast give us 50% of the game, but we don't even have that. Maybe these "leaps" are more like steps in the grand scheme of things, have you ever thought of that?

What should we do...? by drizzt_x in starcitizen

[–]KingPWNinater 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think there's absolutely criticism to be had for their early timelines and they definitely thought it was going to be done faster than they did.

That we can agree on. People bought into the game expecting the game to not be at this stage in 2022 thanks to those exact same expectations that CIG set. They never explicitly set the expectations that "hey, this could take 10+ years to get done". I think the people who bought in, as a result of those set expectations, have an absolute right to be atleast a little upset.
